Fuel Problem
Right the story; I drift into the carpark on Sunday morning just a bit of practice when it's empty.
Went to drift in thismorning, was a bit low on petrol, light was on but didn't think it was that bad, so swung it in a's normal and when I straightened up the car just died.
I was thinking the fuel just sloshed away from the pump, went and filled the car up got a push to the petrol station. Car still won't start, it'll turn over no problem it's like its not getting fuel like when the kill switches are on. So far I've
Let it settle
Checked the wiring of the killswitch
Could the lines be airlocked? And how do you release the air. I was going to take the pipe off the fuel filter and realease the air but not sure if this is the correct method??
Anybody got any ideas?? I'm fairly limited in work jut basic tools and that?
Or should just leave it and get it to the garage in the morning??

check the basics first, check to see shes getting spark. Then test the fuel pump to see if its priming and actually still working.
Have you replaced the original pump at some point?

I'm getting spark. Fuel pump was replaced by previous owner.
How would I check the pump, Persuming I'd have to take it out the tank nd just test the voltage running to it??

ye if you have a tester just check the voltage going to the pump to make sure youre getting a current. If you have no tester youll have to loosen a fuel pipe then turn on the ignition to see if its pumping the fuel up to the filter/engine

I'll give it a try man nd see if I can get it to pump fuel to the filter

disconnect the a hose going to the fuel filter then turn the key in the ignition to the start position and it should pump. was your fuel pump whinning before this happened if so its a sign that its on the way out unless its uprated =they are noisy anyway ?

Cheers lads. Managed to get it sorted.
Took a pipe off at the filter and no fuel being pumped, got a multimeter thrown down and confirmed no power going to the pump. Checked the fuses then with the multimeter and one was gone replaced it and still nothing. Went to put jumps onto the car and discovered the positive connection to the battery was a bit loose. Tightened it up and charged the battery then she fired no bother. Got soaked doing it all lol.
Learnt today not to be trying to drift with fuck all fuel and a loose battery connection :rolleyes:
