why foam fill frame

i have seen a few d1 cars have foam filled frame what would the real benifits of this be lads.

rigidity , solid frame

suppose it would also keep out the wet and stop the rails from rotting from inside out!

any1 know whats the best type to use or is it all the same???

any really.i was talking to a guy which he was the tec adviser for a company that does sealers glues and expanding foam in dublin and he said that they are have to be heat and water safe to meet E.U standard :wink:
