smokey s14
friend of mine just bought a white s14 and realised now that its after getting really smokey, i asked him what colour and he said whiteish, so i was tinkn coolant.but las night i was behind him and i couldnt make out the colour but it defintley was the smell of burning oil so i was tinkn would he be better off replacing the engine rather than doing the head work, what would work out cheaper?
-
it wasnt bought in kildare was it? just that i know of a dodgy 1 that was sold up round here
-
could be the seals gone in the turbo i'd say
-
no he got it in galway ,sorta out in sticks up there,he has it a while bou 2months or more jus problem has gotten worse, hes not very mechanicaly minded so needs to be fixed now before it becomes a big issue
-
does it get worse when it's on boost
-
im not too fimaliar with these yokes was more into the hondas, but do u reckon that might be the culprit, wat are them engines like for rings etc
-
he said if hes driving along its grand then he comes to a roundabout and slowing down and goes again then a big loada smoke if that makes sense
-
turbo fucked i had the same problem it wont last to long if it's doing that mine lasted about 3/4 weeks
-
would it be using oil if the turbo was gone,is it an expensive fix, u a 100% sure just dont no much about these if some 1 says burning oil id automatically tink valve seal or rings
-
it sound more like a turbo to me anyway and not to expencive to fix and the sr's are a good engine when it comes to valve seals and ring they are not like honda's witch are a cunt of a yoke for seals and rings i know i had enough of them over the years
