View Full Version : What colour should i paint my new rota gtr-d's rims...
Hi people
Getting some new rims in a few days and want to paint them some funky
colour..head is wreaked thinking what colour would suit them.
here is a picture of both the car and rim
said i put it out and see what colours people mite think that'd suit it.maybe somebody could photoshop a few images

Lime green would look best in my opinion with the purple

as said above, neon yellow/neon green would work great against the purple! or black or silver which could keep it nice and simple! other than that i cant think of any other colors
how come your using rotas now?? surely you have enough awesome wheels at yours to choose from!:D

I've seen some painted with just a candy coloured lacquer and they look the job!

im sure any paint place would be able to supply you with flouro paint and get someone to respray them all, or you can always use rattle cans if you really want, be a bit of work tho!
as for powdercoating, i havent a clue but ill ask around! (doesnt powdercoating weaken alloy wheels??)
i really like these new rota's looked savage on polo's car

Powdercoating is the only way forward as paint just will not stick especially if your changing tyres alot.....! It only weakens the whell if the wheel is already damaged in some way.....! But brand new wheels are fine to powdercoat.....!

maybe do yours in a real rich yellow/ gold/ orange colour.... house of kolor always have mad colours and any paint place could get you some other kandy paints

i know a lad that does it in shannon but he only has normal colours and said its expensive to get one off colours...two crowds in dublin alrite mite buzz then and see what they can do

ya there a cool rim in fairness...i think they be cool when painted up..and easy to get if ya get a damaged rim

cool i may give them a buzz so..and they prob have loads of colours...was thinking the colour of the wheels on the toyo s15..the lime green could be nice too tho

If your going the powder coating route tallaght powder coating are very good! just got a set of te37's done by them and they came out perfect!
Barrelle also have a decent rep
If your going orange try go for an anodized orange type!

The green won't look great on them ted, I thought they'd look savage on Healy's car but they didn't look great at all in the end.
Black with a purple pinstripe on the lip should look super mint.

The thoughts of taking off Meisters for Rota's yadda yadda but it makes sense plus if your going for the 12J's they will look better under the blister kit IMO plus you'll get way more per $ than Meisters.
Anywho im gonna be a bit boring and say Black. But if it was me id be reluctant to go black because Phils done that. But there is just something so moody about black and I think they would look wicked against the purple. My opinion would be stick with one colour, having the spokes one colour and the dish another is lovely but not on your car, the car is just too emmense!!

im not a big fan of black with purple..black suits bright colours like white alot better.... its head wreaking crap..:rolleyes:

Would it be the same as chrome plating any normal item? I got some stuff chrome plated a few years back, an exhaust n stuff for karts, cant think of the name of the company, I'll give my dad a shout and find out

Safe Plating was the place but i think they have moved now. They used to be in inchicore but we believe they might be in Kilkenny or thereabouts...

These rims are way nicer than the others to go with the nexen colours I'd say do black or gun metal or sumtin dark
Yeah don't do it all one colour, Purple lip as said, or the reverse, purple centres, black lips job done :)
Get a set on one side and get the photochoppers to work their magic!
orange compliments purple, black compliments orange, so ypu could have the spokes a rusty orange and keep the rest black, then sum clear l over it

Yellow in the centre and fade it to Green Or Purple would look class especially to anybody takin acid would look trippy LOL:)

I was going painting mine at the start of the year too but then i couldnt decide so i just left them as they were! Them wheels will make your car look so fat!
was playin around with the colour on the wheels with your car on forza and silver was lookin the best
im 70% thinking il go the lime green colour now look abit mad..easy paint them again down the road if i dont like them..il pop them on the car when
i get them and maybe somebody thats handy on photoshop mite try a few colours for me..
