Best job would be to ring prodrift and say you have a question about the regs.. Just to be on the safe side

A stainless cage would only be good in a show car .

Spec's for Prodrift cage:
• All competing cars must be equipped with a 7 point or better roll cage. Bolt-in or fully welded Cages may be manufactured from seamless T45/T40 Chromoly, or mild steel tubing (Minimum wall thickness diameter of 2mil).

it wouldnt be stronger on impact would be harder to drill through and cut thats about it.stainless cage would probably be worse than having no cage

There is a higher carbon count in stainless than mild steel increasing hardness and strength of the steel...

higher carbon count makes it stronger but also makes it brittle on an impact

All very irrelevant... Question: Will it do for Prodrift? Answer: NO! SIMPLES :p

The more carbon the more brittle steel will get is right but the carbon count aint a lot more than mild steel, it would have to brake to give as mild steel would bend before braking and i can't see anyone braking stainless pipe in any crash..

who cares about the strength of it? that must be costing a bomb to get made!!!
three times the cost...?
