Wasn't gonna throw this up but fuck it.......!

First of all lads im a carpenter not a metal fabracator or a welder but i have been know to throw my hand to the odd thing........! The only wat to learn is if ya do it yourself......! So feel free to fire the abuse and tell me what iv done wrong.........!


Im doing this for a mate and i don't have a mendral benders and all the fancy gear all i have is this yoke below and an angle grinder and a welder........! :p

Stripped out the car and removed all the sound deadning.....!

Bent up the main hoop and the bars at the front......!

Fitted the bars in and made sure everything was lining up.......!

A biy of fish mouthing on the bars......!

Made up these poxes for under the main hoop and plates for under the rest of them......!

Bent this bar just a little to give the drivers big head more clearance......!

Once i had everything lined up i spot welded it together and then dropped the whole frame so i could get continuious welds round the bars........!

Threw in the back supports and an extra few bar for bracing.........!

was no need to bend that bar for head clearance...

lookin at that colour it wont be missed!

sweet lookin cage though in fairness to you.. that hooped 3 point bar is a bit ify lookin though if you dont mind me sayin..

rough estimate on a similar car?

yeah i was jokin the windscreen bar is actually sexy i admit! im on about the one behind the seats? usualy an X or a single bar across then the V formed with 2 seperate bars,3 in total.

be grand anyway looks deadly that the 1st one?

A lot of cages have no bar at all twinkles......! Iv seen them done like that before its more rigid like that......! If ya wanted 1 done im sure we could sort something out.....!

@doyler.....! Yea its a bitch slow and teadious but ya just have to be paitent....!

he might be a carpenter but he does some job on them cages ill down load some pics of my s14 soon and you'll see for yourself

nice job, we built the cage for a mates car too there and none of us are trained at it, hardest part was main hoop and from main hoop down past dash

have to mention though, the x bar in the back, the one thats cut doesnt line threw, sorry im a fussy cunt lol
