Hey guys i could do wit a little help ere,

I rebuilt my redtop sr20det and i decided to go wit a OS Giken TS2BD
Twin plate clutch,

fitted it al grand an al went to plan, went to go try it, but it wudnt go into gear at all

pedal felt funny like as if it was only pushing d pressure plate at d very last of it, but not far enuf, bled d slave cyclinder an al but it was fine

had to get d car rolling so i threw back in my old exedy flywheel an clutch and it was perfect like b4. here is a pic of the clutch an d order i put it in

http://www.osgiken.co.jp/pro_clutch/clutch/ts2bd.jpg

an i added a pic of it fitted in d car, its like d pressure plate fins are very close to d disc, or luks like der even touching d disc
has a little copper grease dat escaped on d disc from d gearbox shaft and if u luk closely d marks from d fins r on it?

i fitted one of those to a 4ag before, there a VERY harsh clutch, no need untill running mega power tbh but..... you could have put them in the right order but have you putt 1 or 2 of the disks in the wrong way round????

as in the diaphragm springs in the clutch are very stiff so that makes for a very stiff pedal and its biting point is like a button lol, but i dunno you might like it, its deffo not a clutch for a daily road car anyway,

without seeing it all i could say is double check everything is in the right way around, is it deffo the right clutch for the car? is the realese bearing in right?

thats ur problem i would think ring up os giken in the uk today
they have them for around 50 pound i think..

all the os-giken clutchs run a diferent release bearing to the standerd one

your slave cylinder might not be strong enough if you want a softer peddle you can get a nismo slave cylinder makes the clutch lighter on the leg:D

the os release bearin is thicker than standert hence why you cant get a gear great clutch took 2 year off abuse in my car and i still got 500 for it when i broke the car but my left leg is def bigger than my right lol!!"!!!!!!

deffo what carpo said, i done mine today and got the release bearing with it, even stated when ordering it that the kit uses x release bearing and the part number required, the sleve on the bearing is slightly longer, also did you make sure your flywheel bolts where the right length, in some cases with those kits the flywheel is thiner and requires you to modify the flywheel nuts by cutting 2-2.5mm off the end.

thx for the help here lads.... im still doing loadsa research here, been in contact with d uk os giken crowd aswell, der suggesting its the carrier that the release bearing fits on might be the wrong length causing the bearing to sit too close to the fins on the clutch cover, but the only ting throwing me off now is..... that im fitting a rb25 box now, the sr box in it is only temporary, an wondering are the carriers (and bearings) d same in both??

yep sr and rb carrier are almost the exact same from what ive seen. same release bearing too.

The OS giken release bearing definatly isnt the same as the nissan one though, its got a very different profile

when i put the os giken in my 180sx i had to get the proper release bearing and sleeve for it. its the shape and design of the release bearing that hits the fingers/springs of the clutch in a different spot to normal clutches.because they're double sprung the release bearing is designed to touch it closer to the tip of the fingers giving the law of the lever effect and making your pedal feel lighter than any other twin clutch etc... the diference in the sleeves is the lenght.

i too am now putting in an rb box so need to do all the reasearch again to find out what bearing and what sleeve i need to fit my sr20det TR2cd clutch while using an r33 rb box............. let me know how you get on and i'll let you know if i get anywhere.

oh and about the blank post from the other day i was away and tried to reply from my phone. didn't go too well eh!
