So two years ago I finally decided to bite the bullet and buy myself a ps13
After two months of searching and finding nothing in ireland I decided to look further afield and with the help of jdm auction watch I purchased this beautiful clean example pretty much standard and had a sunroof exactly what I was looking for.
BBS wheels cusco coilovers a cat back exhaust aftermarket steering wheel bucket seat turbo timer hks mushroom filter and cusco strut was all that was done to her
Now it was just a waiting game
The car landed 3months to the day of me telling Paddy of jdm auction watch that Was The car for me

Next up was vrt
That took a considerable chunk of cash and after 5 nct's (nct and brick headlights don't go well together) she was taxed and ready for road.
I drove it like this for a few weeks after a huge service and just fell in love

Now that I was comfortable it was time to get the car sitting the way I wanted it on some proper old school wheels.
After two or three wheels searching these popped up in Cork and I snapped them up

I was still quite entertained with the standard power but being 1992 she's emissions exempt so out came the cat. While the car was on the lift we cut the downpipe, shortened it and welded all back up because it was catching the road.

The car stayed like this for months because I was back to being a poor college student. After japfest 2016 the car was put off the road and a walbro 255 pump was put in.
Unfortunately I was in a bad car accident and the car didn't move for months
When I was finally able I started the car and we had a fuel leak and the thermostat was sticking.
Fixed these and there was still one weeks nct left so I brought it for a spin when the inevitable happened... A noise every sr owner dread. At least this allowed me to build the engine I wanted right?
Car was sent off to Petko and the engine was fully rebuilt race bearings forged pistons bc springs 14 oil pump etc etc
We also put in a new clutch
Engine is now ready for big power when I'm finished college and can afford the supporting mods (turbo injectors etc)

So the front end has been taken off today
The original side mount manifold has been taken out and scrapped

So we are currently fitting the front mount
Front bumper had to be modified to get the Intercooler to fit in behind it and we are also having issues fitting the headlights again. New brackets will probably have to be made for the bricks

Things have been on a slow for the last few weeks
This isn't much of an update but the battery has been taken out and a spot of rust was found underneath
This was to be cut out anyways for the front mount piping
Started collecting slap stickers for the 1/4 windows if anyone has any lying about shoot me a message [emoji23]
And after months of searching I've finally found and purchased a glass silvia front grill from upgarage Japan [emoji108]

Another not much of an update but my parts from Japan and England landed today
Less than two weeks ago I was scrolling through upgarage Japan and stumbled across this immaculate silvia front grill I'd been searching everywhere for months for one so this was my chance I snapped it up
Again procrastinating I was scrolling through eBay avoiding the mountain of study I was supposed to be doing and ordered this little alloy header tank just to get rid of the horrible plastic one

So yesterday I got to sit behind the wheel and take the car for a quick spin after basically 18 or 19 months
She's still not quite finished and went for nct Wednesday and only failed on the brick headlights (common so was thrilled) she should be done and dusted tomorrow and retest is on Sunday [emoji16]
Currently switching to triple projectors for nct and may even keep them for summer depending on how it looks

Unreal only failing on the headlights! I have NCT in mine in the morning. Must swap out the wheels. I swapped out the steering wheel this evening. Delighted you have it back.

Why change the steering wheel? Mine went through as is bucket seat and steering wheels aftermarket ... Well if yours doesn't pass after essentially a full resto I'd be ringing stone [emoji23]

it didn't pass :p two split pins missing :p Still an awful waste of time and money to have to go for a retest :(

I've never used stone so can't comment I've heard their work is top class but if they stripped it and failed to but those split pins in id be asking them to cover it? I know the feeling failed 4 times last year on beam shape and same again this year.. Your Projectors are going in and might be staying in [emoji23]

It's a tiny thing. considering they built a car from the ground up (pretty much a bare shell) they did extremely well. Stone have also promised to cover any hassles with NCT or otherwise and they're collecting my car on monday morning which shows they're true to their word.
Anyways, this is about your car, not mine :) Can't wait to get them together again. Japfest stand is looking good!
