Hello Guys
Some of you may know about the mission to try and make Jap-Fest show worthy of the vehicles in Ireland
I will try and push forward with a FB page about the whole show but i would like to get an idea of how many people would like to put there car on a stand...

Probably best to put up a picture of your car as it is with your post and i'm sure it'll help sort putting cars together for the organiser.
Ye maybe put ur name and Wat car( small detail about it). Picture would help.
I can't really commit right now as i don't know what car i'll have on the road.

So i am asking mondello if there a limit on the amount of cars per stand ( dont there is, but better ask ) and asking for them to give me a lay out of the full paddock to ensure we fit car in comfortably with out having the place wagged!

best of luck getting a layout from them. usually they'll give you say 10 car spaces, and you'd really want to be there with the 10 cars plenty early and all together. last year they got all the cars to move closer together to allow room for all the stands (some stands bring 20-30 cars)
great to see interest growing in having a stand. if ye need any banners, signs, etc let me know

Any RWD car is going to be better than having golfs, boras, octavias, puntos and Renault 5s (you know the one) there.

at the moment i'm running the site, there's also other moderators and site staff.
Im not in a position to arrange the stand for japfest this year (too close to herself's due date). But happy to help in any way i can
Been following some of the talk about this on FaceBook, I really hope the irrelevant shit is kept out this year and I also hope that there is more of a show layout and not the usual half arsed car park we usual see in Mondello.
I despise the straight line set up! Clubs/groups need to have their own cordoned off area with some sort of a layout.

Ok, So we have to organise this properly if its being done. Seeing as you have started the thread and contacted Mondello, do you want to take the lead on this GTSr32? (ps, whats you name) Ill help any way I can. It seems like we are all interested but dont know whos taking charge and dont want to tread on anyones toes but as Andrew isn't in a position to be hands on for this someone has to take control or it'll end up a shambles.
So, if GTSr32 is happy to take the lead this, can we start forming a structure and plan for this. Namely;
1) number of cars that can be placed in paddock as part of the Driftireland stand?
2) What, if any, materials have we to set up a stand on the day?
3) how confrimed entry to the stand/paddock is supposed to work - do we pay on day or pre-buy tickets individually or as a organised group?

Yes, meeting beforehand is a good idea, just have to see where suits everyone and what time we have to be at mondello.

As for organising.... We will pre-book! and then i just need people at mondello early! like 8- 8:30 at lastest! i want the place's all sorted a week at max before hand! Iv loads to sort with the full event! but will take a lead here.
If someone can bring some sort of TENT then cool if not we just go and set up...

Its hardly €10 on top of the €18 entry at the gate for the sunday to be part of what modello are having as a feature of the show? Although this wouldnt be a surprise!!

Paid directly to mondello. They are sending the stickers for the cars to whoever the rep for the site is. To make things easier we should probably mark on the list who has paid with you actual name as mondello will be working by our names if we pay directly.

yeah definitely get there early guys. and if you can't be there early, you're only making it more complicated for the stand
Agree with Laz it will mean we can set up the stand (parking cars) and not have the hassle of trying to hold spaces etc,.,.,
Yeah thats sound, I can be there for 8 too.
I'm very sorry i have to pull out this year due to having to go working in germany for 2 weeks on sunday. Hopefully i can make some meet next year or japfest, apologies again :(

Yes, we can stickers for anyone that needs them. Andrew said we he can do banner if we have somewhere for it. We have no marquee/tent thing so where the banner would go is the question. Anyone have anything at home that would work? Ill have a look on argos to see is there anything cheap and cheerful that might suit if we cant come up with anything.

Im sure there'd be a garage open in clane/prosperous. If you plan getting car washed please allow time to be at meeting point on time. Ill be bringing a few bits to clean/shine the car a bit weather dependant! Hopefully it'll be dry.
Ye there is an apple green garage 2 minutes from mondello but as Davy said il just bring stuff in the boot to clean if needed.

Thanks Andrew for getting them done up. We will have window visors supplied free of charge for cars on the driftireland stand. We will have a small amount of visors for sale on the day @ €10 each if anyone else wants them. Just to conform to all, we are meeting at 7.45 at Christys bar car park in prosperous. Do yer best to be on time, only make life hard if anyone is late, (I'll probably be late now!!)
Serious day today lads and have to say we got a good stand on show. Between weather and drifting, it was a class day
Well Lads, seen the stand, good turn out, all looked great and the weather just topped it off. I had mine just parked the other side of the stand next to the pedestrian gate.
Fair play lads Ye had a great stand. We were just beside ye on the Crew OneSeven stand.
What a day. Absoultely fanastic craic form the minute the alarm clock went off!! The stand came out well and was in a prominent place beside the barrel gymkhana which I would have said was a bit unnecessary for the show that it was, would be much better suited to the regular IDC rounds. Thanks to the lads that took part in the Driftireland stand and made the effort to be there on time, not all sober, but there!! Was great to meet ye that both were on the stand and members who made themselves known that werent on the stand!! Overall, I think it was a fairly good show with plenty of japans finest machinery on display. The drifting was great too and although some engine issues were what sealed the fate of some drivers, it was still a great days action.

Ye was great day lads. I'm still fucking wrecked from it. Talking to a lot of people and they didn't know driftireland was still alive never mind we got a stand together and a decent enough stand at that. The site needs a new lease of life
I got the same response when I told them my car was on the DI stand. The big problem is most people are used to the old .com address and keep getting the message saying saying the site doesn't exist
