Here is the new car i picked up yesterday. Many of you will recognise it as Matt (Maly21ie) car. He was a pleasure to deal with and very genuine which is hard to get! So thanks again to him.

Its in absolutely fantastic condition with only 2 owners since import in 2007, not a spot of rust and a recent full respray. Its a real credit to the previous owner.

This wasnt advertised for sale anywhere as i just spotted a thread, PM'd Matt and persuaded him to let me come see it and a good offer took it home :) It was definately worth the 10 hour round trip too get it.

Here is some spec.

1994 S14 Kings spec

Rear spats
Tein drift series coilovers
Camber arms

Small update:

Ive booked the car in with @Nicky to get some things fitted and niggly bits sorted at the end of the week. Having the tomei manifold fitted along with the camber arms, tension rods and toe arms. Ive also booked the car in with @big_pete as the car hasn't been machine polished since its full respray a few months back and this will bring the best out of it.

Gave the car a good clean over the weekend, after i cleaned the mats i still wasn't happy with them so i set about getting them better looking.

Here they are after before, only hit with the hoover.

Update:

With this build i want too continue with the style it has and use genuine and jdm parts. Going by this, the boost gauge screwed into the steering cowl annoys me as it looks a bit drifty if that makes sense.

So I've just purchased this rare genuine Nismo gauge holder, which in my opinion is far more neat and subtle. It replaces the heater vent in the doorcard and faces the driver perfectly. Here is some pics of the one i bought.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/nismo1_zpsfkrukqsb.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/nismo1_zpsfkrukqsb.jpg.html)

I love those gauge holders! My bro had one in his S14, was so nice..... Maybe it was the Greddy gauge in combination that was doing it for me

Ludo
24-03-15, 20:09
Im currently watching a greddy gauge on eBay lol Probably the same one as there isn't many 80mm gauges!

Update:

Had the car with with a friend getting the camber arms, tension rods and toe arms fitted along with some other issues and an alignment and it drives nicer than before it went in.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/17C12FEE-BA0A-4F63-804A-9BE117E76963_zps2t0hh8y5.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/17C12FEE-BA0A-4F63-804A-9BE117E76963_zps2t0hh8y5.jpg.html)

My mot date came up faster than i hoped, but put it through anyway knowing there was a few things that wouldnt pass. It failed on the clocks, no rear fog, horn, a few bulbs and emissions so not too bad at all.

I have the fog and horn sitting here just need to have them fitted.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/F55A3AE0-2A94-4380-84A5-308D30E288D0_zpseeqwsiqi.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/F55A3AE0-2A94-4380-84A5-308D30E288D0_zpseeqwsiqi.jpg.html)

The cars going back to have the mot faults sorted along with a boost leak somewhere which is holding the car back a bit.

Bought myself a nice old school 80mm gauge to match the nismo holder.

Nope you don't. You can fail on having a fog light switch and no light though.

Update:

Had nothing on over the weekend so i thought id tackle some bits that where annoying me.

The clock bulbs where really dull.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/52BD12AF-3A1A-455C-A750-363222C3B70E_zpse7izauoz.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/52BD12AF-3A1A-455C-A750-363222C3B70E_zpse7izauoz.jpg.html)

So i pulled the bulbs out and replaced them, and it looks far better now.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/FBC618F3-B5E5-46A0-9DB9-5D17F4A222F1_zpsf2qwoeem.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/FBC618F3-B5E5-46A0-9DB9-5D17F4A222F1_zpsf2qwoeem.jpg.html)

I found this strange, here are the old bulbs that i pulled out. They had these little rubber hats over them? Must be to tint them blue, but why not just buy blue bulbs? (Excuse the gimp gloves, was cleaning my exhaust first)

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/9158E02A-EC5B-428E-A390-177E065D2CE9_zpsvbxsoycx.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/9158E02A-EC5B-428E-A390-177E065D2CE9_zpsvbxsoycx.jpg.html)

Had to take the clocks out anyway to get them stickered up for mot so thought i my aswell while i was here.

While i was hoking about i found an old turbo timer tucked up underneath the dash.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/5ADC0CF8-3049-4946-BC1F-8FD6114773CE_zpsxyyd5gyh.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/5ADC0CF8-3049-4946-BC1F-8FD6114773CE_zpsxyyd5gyh.jpg.html)

Although it wasnt working and i had a Greddy FATT one here which has some good features aswell as being a turbo timer.

So i set about cutting some wires of the old one and using them to wire the new one.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/A3820CAB-23A2-46B7-B304-28C83D493136_zps34pradxg.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/A3820CAB-23A2-46B7-B304-28C83D493136_zps34pradxg.jpg.html)

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/BF9194B4-938A-4FFF-8F4C-B1077BF441B3_zps16dlxzkw.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/BF9194B4-938A-4FFF-8F4C-B1077BF441B3_zps16dlxzkw.jpg.html)

The wires where properly connected under the hear shrink, i was just crossing them above to check it worked.

I was looking for a dremel all day, and know one i knew had one handy. So i had to use a drill with a side cutting bit and a file. Not ideal but did the job.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/28148D4E-BE68-4CFF-BBD6-80CA6712E254_zpsqbscnr7s.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/28148D4E-BE68-4CFF-BBD6-80CA6712E254_zpsqbscnr7s.jpg.html)

Before i filed it down.

http://i1087.photobucket.com/albums/j468/Ludo4690/Silvia/AA21234E-50D8-4710-A2AD-EF4BFB85CAB5_zpsmk3o4xvo.jpg (http://s1087.photobucket.com/user/Ludo4690/media/Silvia/AA21234E-50D8-4710-A2AD-EF4BFB85CAB5_zpsmk3o4xvo.jpg.html)

Heres some pics from this weekends driving.

Drove into this carpark where it looked like a unicorn had exploded. Thought it looked cool so took a pic.

Done a deal last night with my bride for these DC2 Recaros.

These will suit the car more i think as they are from around the same era and wont look too new. Plus they recline which is what i wanted.

The driver side bolster on one is a bit shagged, hopefully wont cost too much to get sorted.

You'd be best trying to sell the driver side Recaro and get another passenger side one thats clean as the material can't be matched.

Sold the recaros too fund a Bride Brix i wanted and ofcourse its sold :-( So i put the money to good use on other parts.

Bought a walbro 255 fuel pump and will get new sparks plugs, belts, oil and oil filter and give the car a bit of a service.

I had a rattle develop over the past week that i feared the worst for. Sounded like it was coming from the head, but on closer inspection, the turbo was loose on the manifold, causing a rattle when accelerating. 80% of the bolts on the manifold where hand tight :-/

With the help of a few other mates we changed the manifold too a Tomei one with all new Nissan Gaskets. It seems to spool up and go alot better than before. This could be down too the fact there was a gap between mani and turbo before.

Pics too follow.

There is a night and day difference in the car after fitting the walbro fuel pump, the hesitation before full boost is gone :)

I'm curious to see what difference might make in my 32 now, probably feck all but still curious.

Maybe worth doing? I had a noticeable hesitation/lag around 4000 rpm, fitted this and it sorted it :)

I have a 255 pump waiting to go in for the last while, just haven't had the chance with college, finish up on Thursday so it'll be going in next week along with all the other parts I've accumulated :D

Nice one man, let me know how you get on!

Ludo
27-05-15, 15:34
Well the hesitation is still there when you arnt on wide open throttle. If you give it the beans it will go through the gears dead on but when your driving normal its there still. Going to put some Nismo Injectors in it and see what happens. I think it just needs a map tbh.

What rpm is the hesitation at? I had a slight hesitation before at about 2500-3000 rpm at partial throttle due to a faulty lambda sensor

Ludo
27-05-15, 16:02
Yeah phil, thats where it is maybe up until 4000 rpm

Collected the car from PMG Autocare last night and as usual the detail and dedication this man goes into is second to none. Couldnt thank him enough for how the car turned out and for staying late to have it done.

Anyone who has never had a car up before, i advise you to go do it, you will not regret it. The car is absolutely spotless, and cleaner than it has ever been. Typical that it has rained this morning a bit but sure!
