After selling my skyline a few years back to get sensible and save money, I eventually got in a position to have a look for something fun again. I stalked donedeal for a while and one day stumbled across a familiar looking skyline and once I realised it was my old one, my decision was made. I got on the phone and went to get back my old car, even though I had to pay more than what I sold it for!
To be fair, it had some bits done which I liked anyway. This was it when I sold it a few years back:

After I sold it it changed hands again to Big P on here who changed wheels and spoiler and few other bits who then sold it on again to a guy in Navan who I dont think even drove it much, it was parked in his garage which is where I come in. This is it the day I got it back where it likes to be:

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s178/cavalier_gsi/FullSizeRender.jpg (http://s152.photobucket.com/user/cavalier_gsi/media/FullSizeRender.jpg.html)

There were 50mm spacers which I removed before leaving the sellers house as the wheels were rubbing the arches badly. To say I was happy to get it home was an understatement. I had regretted having to ever sell it but Im determined to keep it for as long as I can this time!
After a good once over and service I felt it just wasn't right so got a local nissan genius to check it out and found the oil pressure wasn't as good as it should be, so off it went to get that sorted. While changing the oil pump I decided to do a bit of upgrading so with N1 oil pump I ordered ACL race main and big end bearings along with full timing belt kit and new gaskets for the cam covers and new walbro fuel pump. No pictures as wasn't near the car for a few weeks while it was getting the work done.

Got it back and was happy that all was safe and well again and next mission was to try get a NCT as it was out since february last year (as was the tax). Ran it through at start of december without bothering to make any effort to pass to see what came back. No surprise it failed on emmisions without a cat, had imbalance on front suspension and parking lights weren't working at front, but came on with fog lights! Was happy enough considering so got to hunting for front coilovers and a cat for it. The parking lights was an easy fix and sourced good front coilovers and a cat and rebooked a full test after christmas as was too lazy to do anything when on holidays!

During this time the clutch started slipping so that was another job to be done. Few calls made and advice got and ordered Exedy paddle clutch and billet chromly flywheel with ARP pro series bolts. When this was being done by Patrick in Ace Autos, sligo (Gent and a genius!) the old clutch was actually a nismo twin plate with lightened flywheel. All out anyway even tho I could have gotten the clutch discs redone and put it back in but always felt the bite on the twin plate wasn't my personal preference so in went the Exedy and the new flywheel. Got it in 2 weeks ago for NCT and thankfully it flew through this time. :o

The last few weeks I was finding a misfire coming in on hard acceleration and checked the coilpacks, not in great shape so back online shopping again and found a guy on skylineowners.com who was doing Benchmark coilpacks. Was a bit dubious but after researching them a bit I decided to take the risk as they are less than half the price of splitfires. Threw them in last Saturday and what a difference they made. Brought it back to life and smile is back on my face.

Anyway, thats a lot of talk with very few pictures but I'll throw up the current spec and pic of how it sits now:

Kazz 2way diff
veilside short shifter
HKS hyper dmax Coilovers
Driftworks rear camber arms
4 point front strut brace, standard rear strut brace
Exedy paddle clutch and billet chromoly flywheel with ARP pro series bolts
Frontmount with hks hardpipe kit
Walbro 225lph fuel pump
Benchmark uprated coilpacks
ACL race main and big end bearings
Uprated oil pump
stainless down pipe and decat
hks cat back exhaust
Blitz turbo timer
Deep dish suede steering wheel
Nismo lip kit
Monkey magic rear lip spoiler
Roof spoiler
18" ultralite nurbergrings, gold centre with chrome dish

Other bits I want to do:
Get Driftireland stickers out of the press and on to the car
Gauge set (have Greddy oil temp got, not fitted yet)
Fit fuel pressure regulator
Upgrade speakers as rear speakers are wanked
Wheel spacers to fill arches without rubbing
Serious cleaning and polishing session!
Considering turbo upgrade an remap to get the most out of it

glad you got your car back, think many people regret selling some of their cars at some stage, so that's defo a happy "end" :)
Will keep an eye on it, and like the look already!

Thanks, few things to do yet!

Thanks, yeah they will go back on or possibly not such big ones, just have to rise it a touch so they arent rubbing the arches and see what its like then.

Nice example uv got there, I have one hear aswell in the same color and with the same clutch aswell.
Them twin plated clutches are a balls around town! The paddle clutch is way easier.

Any pics of the engine bay and interior?
Bast of luck with the car.

Since last update not a whole lot done, got a reconditioned standard turbo and threw it in with the thought of using my existing turbo to be rebuilt with stronger internals to run a bit more boost but that will happen in its own time!
Decided yesterday to give it a bit of a clean and threw it up on donedeal to see what happens. Not really wanting to sell but have an idea in back of my head that might come to pass if it sells! Anywho, few pictures of how it sits at the minute, engine bay still needs a bit of cleaning!

Its a tint on them, same on side repeaters.

Could be a lot lower too but thanks to 3 discs being in rag order in my back I struggle with it as it is to get in and out!
