Bought this 318is a few days before christmas, full m3 rep with the vader interior. I know its far from a powerhouse but it will do the job until i change the engine down the line, and it was dirt cheap ;)
Havent had the chance to do much with it yet other than put the welded diff from my last 36 in, plan at the moment is coilovers, hydro, strip it out, 4.44 diff and hopefully a cage and then get it out to a few drift days.
anyway, this is how the car sits at the minute, excuse the shit photos

If anyone knows of a small case 4.44 diff for sale let me know. Should be getting a few bits in the post one of these days now.
That interior is a very rare colour! If it's clean you should get about 500 euro for it!

Small tear on the driver seat but the rest is in fairly okay condition, should get the price of the car back just by selling them hopefully

Last yoke was only running an m40b18 from an e30 so even the is engine should be a nice change, 60 psi in the rear and we'll be right

I was wondering why the photos were so small, must set up an account so. The front bolt on the diff has sheared off so will get some more photos when the car is back on the ground which should be tomorrow hopefully

Got the diff back in today after drilling out the sheared bolt, gave the yard a nice blackening ;) This week should see a nice few bits done to the car, should hopefully have it stripped out, bucket seat in, 4 point harness in and all going well should have my coilovers by next weekend. Going to take the wishbones, hub and steering rack off my old e36 before i crush it and keep them for when i start on the lock mods. Hope the photos are the right size now, thats my old 36

cool...sounds like a plan, get a good diff, some lock and even a htdro handbrake and she should be fit for a bit of drifiting. e46 wishbones are a cheap and chearful way of getting extra lock on an e36. fit straight on and are about an inch longer than e36 ones. have a wee look on google about them.

I think ill just chop the e36 ones and lenghten them because i can pretty much do it for free, around 35 mm is right iirc

Finally got around to putting the bucket seat in too. Car is ten times livelier now so thats good, its looking like ill be heading out on Tynagh the 22nd of February with it for the IGR driftday, cant wait. REALLY need a 4.44 diff now so if someone can help me out with that it'd be much appreciated! but anyway, heres some pics :)

Have joms in my mk3 golf and I think they're meant to be close enough, bit bouncy but great for 200 euro
I've had ta-techniks on my red e36 and jom on my road e36 (which will be replaced by bc coilovers next week), for budget coilovers ta-techniks are superior , my joms just attract rust

4.44 SMALL CASE E36 DIFF WANTED! welded or open will do
DiarmaidE36
23-01-15, 23:46
Right so time for an update ;) My ta-technix arrived so i set about putting them in, surprisingly didn't shear any bolts in the process considering my luck. Turns out it was only on cut springs and not lowering springs after all
Before

Couldnt get the top mounts off the old shocks because the ram was spinning with the nut as i tried to open, so out came the Aldi welder http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j136/DiarmaidE36/d5_zps6be8bcc9.jpg
Considering nobody would want the shocks i just welded along the ram and was able to catch it with the vicegrips then. Sorted, off came the top mounts and threw them onto the coilovers.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j136/DiarmaidE36/d4_zpsc86198fd.jpg
Put the coils in and bolted them all up before repeating the same with the other side.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j136/DiarmaidE36/d7_zpse43fcb01.jpg
The racing dynamics were rubbing the coilovers so i had to put the msport wheels back on until i get some spacers.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j136/DiarmaidE36/d3_zpsd577c7e9.jpg
I then went about putting in the rears. I put the spring and adjuster in but it was sitting way too high so i pulled out the adjusters again. It was still sitting a bit high but the springs have settled since and are now at a nice height.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j136/DiarmaidE36/10934275_830430946999752_477643982_n_zps3d4f8fc4.j pg
And i also stuck on a tow strap off the old 36
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j136/DiarmaidE36/d9_zpsa3185ba2.jpg
And just some photos after getting it back on all fours, ignore how dirty it was and the buckled arches, all will be sorted soon

Started overheating but i bled loads of air out of the system and now its staying bang on in the middle, delighted.
http://i79.photobucket.com/albums/j136/DiarmaidE36/d15_zps6bf781d3.jpg
Have to say for 200 euro the coilovers have made some difference to the car, its 100 times more predictable when sliding.
That said she did meet a wall last night....
