View Full Version : Sub €1000 tramp project
Myself and deco got our hands on a complete tramper last weekend.
It's a silver kouki 180sx non turbo.
As i'm the mechanic ive set a budget of a grand to get the car to basic spec for drift days and track day to get seat experience in it.(Whats the basic requirements needed for a cage, and apart from a cage, seat, harness and helmet is there anything else needed)

apart from a fixed back seat, harness and helmet youd prob be sorted for a drift day, you would want to be looking into coilovers and and intercooler too i would say though, and i doubt the cage should be top of your list if your only doing drift days, it will take up alot of your budget, good luck with the project

ya sure just throw in any old seat so,and a harness and helmet and your away, no need for coilovers or intercooler if thats the case

Yeah like the lads said, seat, tow eyes, harness, & a set of coilovers Carpo (JDMJap parts) can sort you out for a good second hand set at a decent price!

a lad want the lights but we cant get them off the back of the car the nuts are ringin on them pure snappin cause it would a been 100 euro drifter lol
the seats are still up for grabs as far as i know theres a cig burn in the passo an they need a wash wel take offers il get pics on monday an stick them up

It's far from clean lad.
2 front wings are clacked and there is a gap the size of a 2euro coin in the chassis leg.
She was hit hard before and badly repaired but the welder will be coming out in the next few days to sort it out.
Getting stuck in 2 nite to do some of the list of work on it.
Lots more weight saving stripping,
Vent the bonnet,
Remove the air con,
Remove the sound deadening,
Make the doors a bit lighter,
Put the steering colum support bars and modified dash back in,
Put in a seat and take it for a test drive.

Had her out last night for a bit of a spin and the cat exploded.
Think some of it got stuck in the exhaust as the cat got so hot it was glowing.

As for the car she didnt last the morning in goldstone 2day so its new engine time for her now.
Big end knocks = stop driving (normal person driving)

i think the biggest problem was whoever was driving it was putting it into first and revving the tits off it while driving around the corners at the track! haha. was funny as feck when it let go though! ya putting in an sr20det? please make it look un-shite hehe :D

we have plans to change the colour and sponsors for the next day lol

Wont be going turbo on this chassis as it's not in the best of condition. Have another sr20de sitting there for it.
Have another chassis there thats going to get something nice and powerful in it.
Rite time to resurrect this project.
Got deco's car sorted and its out of the workshop so now it's time to do a bit of work to this tramp.
After having a good inspection of the chassis there is alot of welding and metal plate's to sort the body but thats the easy part.
The bodywork will be started tomorrow so welder at the ready for a long day of work.
Taking a different approach to this car now as we are cutting the shit out of it to make it into something like this.
