I figured id add to the flow of traffic and pop up my build thread. The other thread was just more so for pictures etc, i'll try get an updated progress report on whats been going on with this car from when I got her.

This was the car before I took ownership.

Sourced from an auction in Japan. The requirments were straight forward. Had to be a Manual tourer V Chaser 100 model. Diff was priority, coilovers and a seat would be a bonus. Thankfully after staying up till 3/4/5am on the phone to Andy and Ems.. after going through several dogs.. we came across this one above. It was more expensive BUT it met everything I needed. So it was bought.. I remember I was in bed at 3am over joyed that id just got in more debt.. to have the car iv wanted for ages!!!! That feelin hah.


Its a 97, Spec are as follows.

- Kaaz 2 way
- KTS coilovers
- FMIC
- Full system exhaust
- Work front wheels
- CST rear wheels
- Recaro seat
- HID Headlights
- A/M Front lip

So the car was bought, and shipped over to Ebisu where it sat and waited for me to arrive for another round of the G1GP and a summer Matsuri.

I had never driven a JZX before, The levels of excitment were off the scales tbh.

We arrived at Ebisu not long after the Fukushima disaster and the place we stayed at was like a ghost town. The hotel wouldnt let us check-in because of the power plant and alot of shops had boarded up windows etc. There was a bunch of Aussie regulars who were there too.. they managed to get all gaijin banned from all the friken pubs that were still open !! :D

SO. Day 1 at Ebisu of this trip we were met with temp's of around 32'. The surface temps were off the charts and for us white scots.. we were struggling big time. So much so I spend the whole first day feeling sorry for myself and struggling to cope with the temps.. not much chance of actual drifting at all! So we went and bought some helmets, got tyres, fuel and got the car setup for skids. Checked the coilovers, oil, fitted a Nardi wheel and just had a chilled day driving from track to track embracing my fully working Air Con! :D :D :D

Day 2 was thrown into the deep end.. First time drifting minami, first time drifting in the G1GP and first time drifting the JZX.. We had 2 hours practice prior to the comp and I was bricking it. The car was running 2 bar of boost when I got it, Needless to say it was bloody quick! However half way through the first corner of Minami the car was fitting fuel cut obviously.. So we got it back to standard boost and went back out.

It .. was.. intense. The slope of the tracker is far beyond what can be seen in any photos. The first hump really throws the car about and its some rush. I was paired up against a Pro from the Dominican Republic. Needless to say he schooled me.. HOWEVER! I still came 12th overall.. Out of 16. So yeah shit.. but meh. I wasnt there to win. I was there for the experience!

Day 3 was used to do whatever we wanted.. IT WAS THE MATSURI FFS! :D No holds bar, night time drifting, loads of tracks and some videos..

So, After I got home I couldnt stop thinking about it.. I needed it in my life over here and the idea was, to take it back and sell it to pay off some debts. So I went about getting it shipped home... and waited.

There was a shed load of dramas with the customs shit but thats not important anymore. Whats important was that it was this side of the globe.. Another Dream Car ticked off the list.

I then decided to order up shit loads of stuff for it, Wheels, HSD's, Grills, blah blah blah.

This is like a new canvas to me, Like when I got the s15 with the gay veilside crap all over it.. So im looking forward to getting my hands on it and changing... EVERYTHING on it. !!!!!

Then I got my girlfriend (Now Fiance') to polish the car as It hadnt been washed since August 2011. Even then, I only gave it a quick hose down at Ebisu to get the tyre marks off it.. so you can imagine, it took AGES to get the 'pearl' shine back.. even still it needs alot more work to get the shine back..

Tried to move it out my drive way but it scraped the shit out of the pavement. When the wheels/coils turn up im going to have to rip out all the plastic arch liners and find out what I can hit with a hammer to go lower.

Well I got my wheels last night.. I wasnt going to fit them but considering the front wheel is buckled and the rear two are almost spent.. I figured Id make an effort to give it a go..

The wheels as mentioned earlier at 18x9 ET23 and 18x10 ET23. They have 225/40/18's all round as I couldnt get 215's at the time.
I got the old trolly jack handle out and started to work on the rear archs.

Went for a drive and it still scrapped.. so; decided to raise it up a fraction on the back.
Went out for another drive and it seemed ok..
Went to fit the fronts..

Rolled the archs some more and sat it down.. was getting about 12% of a turn ¬___¬.. SO.. jacked it back up and raised the front. Wasnt enough so more rolling and raised it again.. Went to drive it 'seeeemed ok'..

Then it rained.. I went to bed. Drove to work this morning and it drove like a dream, no noise's knocks or bangs, full lock and no more wobbily steering wheel and legal tread levels.. so the functional part I have, I just need to get it lower.
