Well I'm on this a while now so I said that I probably should get my Thread up over these winter evenings when i dont have the car to work on/enjoy as it's now away for paint.
So from the beginning:
On the 17/03/2014 (yes paddys day) instead of drinking my life away I headed an hour down the road to a man who nearly sounds like more of a culchie than me, Petko (Pepsterx). This was a big moment in my life, first jap car and first rwd. Yes petko you are responsible for coverting me as i was a huge VAG man :p

So my car is away for painting right now, money came about and i started purchasing bits as you do!

So i went on friday to have a look at the progress on the bodywork...The waves are nearly gone out of the fiberglas now :)
Jesus that looks like a lot of filler! Think some of the best lads use Dolphin Glaze on fibreglass panels to take ripples out.
Car looks good though pre disassembly, nice to see road cars getting the treatment.

The deadline was japfest this year but i guess it'll hopefully be there next year :) haha!
So I picked up the mirrors from Tom (Tomdotcom) last week, sound lad :)!
Got a mate to tint my quarter windows tonight, will do boot/hatch window when car is back from paint :)
Car is ready for primer so hopefully there will be more updates in a few weeks as long as my painter doesnt get busy it'll be back to me asap :D

Quick update, car is coming home next weekend from body shop regardless of whether it's painted or not. He has fucked me around for the past 10 months with false hope, constant lies and just complete bullshit so now it's my turn to do it to him :D

same to see lad i had the same hassle with the paint job on my twincam lad was a disaster ended up taking it back and having to get some1 else to do it its a awful kick to the stones that ya cant just trust a man to do a job like
sure might swell go all out, pull engine fix the bay paint it up tuck wiring etc etc make it worthwhile :)

Thanks man :) yeah he's happy at his work which is always a bonus and it means he can take pride in his work too. Second time lucky i guess with the panel beater side of things :)! Yeah I'm so excited to see the finished result and can't wait to get her home to my shed so i can finish her off. Well when i say finish I don't mean completely because let's be honest they're never finished lol :)

Cheers dude! Yeah it's been a long year of torture but it made it through. Yeah centre caps are there just slipped my mind to put them on after a long weekend of building up the car. Ah nct is next but that should be no problem. Apart from that i just wanna enjoy her now and maybe look at power mods later on when funds build up again

Same as that Noeleen thanks �� needs flattened and buffed up again to really bring out the colour but all in all i just fell in love with her properly this time lol. Don't know if I'm raising bars, but thanks all the same buddy :)
So i had the car up for a sale for a while and had a few viewers all who were disappointed with the paint work and I don't blame them because what was supposed to be a top notch job turned into another nightmare!! Reactions, blisters, runs, orange peel, you name it the car has it, none of which shows up in pictures so the man thinks he's done a great job altogether and doesn't want anything to do with the car now and won't listen to the fact the job was completely shite!
But anyways respray no.3 is coming next year all going well, but first i wanna get some more power out if the car and enjoy it a little bit.
So the plan is...
Cosworth steel headgasket
Brian Crower Valve springs
Tomei poncams
Tomei rocker arm stoppers
Get some head work done in an engine rebuild shop
Then onto the bolts on's which will include...
Walboro 255 fuel pump
Sard 550cc injectors
Z32 afm with HPI filter and alloy intake/suction pipe
Nistune or power fc (looking like it's gonna be a nistune)
Turbo is looking like either a hks gt-ss or a Garrett gt2860r... Opinions welcome on turbo selection? :)
I'm also replacing the top and rear gearbox seals
Fitting an alloy rad and electric fans setup
Fitting a greddy profec s boost controller
Changing fluids also.
Alot of this work is taking place at Petkos (Pepsterx) as I'm away in Canada/America on a work trip.

Yeah I'll be sorting it after I do the power upgrades and get it mapped. Thinking about a full bn blister kit and then re paint whole car too obviously :)

In relation to turbo, there was a Garrett gt2860r in my 180 and id highly recommend it, it made 276bhp on wcp's dyno and it wasnt mapped at that stage running 0.9 bar boost. I had injectors, pfc, z32 afm and all there ready to go in but i sold the car before getting around to it. Would love to have finished it off and mapped it :(

Ehh so i have most of the parts on my list bar an ecu and turbo. And I didn't know if I'd need a pressure reg or not? :)
Turbo sounds good to me, i must look up what it maxes out at though you're right!
Yeah i just bought a GReddy profec s last week lol so boost controller sorted :)
After all this i need to source some nice old style GReddy gauges :) already have a GReddy boost gauge, so oil temp and pressure and water temp to match would be nice :)

I have 180sx with a HKS GTRS with a .64 housing, 555cc Nismo Injectors, z32 afm, FMIC, Walboro, full exhaust and all the usual bits and bobs. The car made 306.9 bhp & 257.3 Ftlb @ 1.0 bar & 355.6 bhp & 341.9 Ftlb Torque @ 1.2bar. It reaches full whack at 4300 rpm. It is fun to drive and i dont really take much notice of the lag. It was mapped on a Nistune by AP-Performance.

Yeah i just bought a GReddy profec s last week lol so boost controller sorted :)
After all this i need to source some nice old style GReddy gauges :) already have a GReddy boost gauge, so oil temp and pressure and water temp to match would be nice :)

I think the fpr is a good idea as its not too expensive, maybe not entirely necessary but for the sake of €150. Best speak with who your getting to map it to see what spec the recommend going with to suit the ecu/turbo setup.

I have 180sx with a HKS GTRS with a .64 housing, 555cc Nismo Injectors, z32 afm, FMIC, Walboro, full exhaust and all the usual bits and bobs. The car made 306.9 bhp & 257.3 Ftlb @ 1.0 bar & 355.6 bhp & 341.9 Ftlb Torque @ 1.2bar. It reaches full whack at 4300 rpm. It is fun to drive and i dont really take much notice of the lag. It was mapped on a Nistune by AP-Performance.

Sounds good man, was chatting Stiv at MDT who will be mapping it and he has recommended a Garrett GT28060r :) he said with all the other supporting mods it should make 360/370bhp no problems at all. :)
Waiting until 4300 for full whack I couldn't deal with after mapping and spending money on it, but thats my opinion.
