E46 M3 Fault Code

Fault Code coming up on the car.

C3 Deviation, Setpoint torque from actual torque

Bit of googling is showing its the fly by wire. Is it just the potentiometer or do i need a complete pedal unit.

Are they interchangeable or M3 specific.
