lads can a uprated metal headgasket be used a second time if its taken off i need to take my sr20 engine apart so it would save a few pound if it could

nope. once there off thats it as far as i know fella, im sure someone else will be able to correct me on that though.

stay away from cometic gaskets too when your getting another one, they seem to have a 50/50 chance of sealing or not.

Head gaskets are compressed when fitted so cannot be used again.

Would also advise getting the head AND block skimmed when fitting a new steel gasket to ensure both surfaces are perfectly flat and clean.

cosworth do a h/g for the sr thats ment to be pretty good.

have to agree colm cosworth gaskets are very gud, pricey but welll worth it,

was thinking that,i know a lad who used them the whole time on his motorcross bikes and never failed and plenty recommend them on sxoc,so i think ill try one
