Had already posted a few pics in the introduction thread so decided i would post some up here. Picked this up in Japan the other morning. Rough and ready but came in on my budget (which was originally for a beater s13) so im happy enough with the outcome.
The car itself is being imported through Alan McCrory of DriftWizards. Honestly couldnt recommend the guy enough, easy to speak to, good contact and will always do his best. Check DriftWizards out on fb if you need any bits.
Im waiting for the final spec and some more pics from Alan which i should hopefully have soon.
Its not the prettiest now but it will get a full coat of brilliant blue once i get it home. I will focus on the bodywork and wheels first and can decide then if S Body ownership is for me.

Now, the fact its mentioned turbo timer and gauges I'm honestly clutching at straws that its maybe had a DET engine fitted but there was too many other faults to end up listing it, it would be nice but all is not lost if it hasn't. Will just have to wait and see when Alan finds out himself.
Fingers crossed it has a DET. If not i'm sure it'll still be a load of fun. I'd love something n/a to rag around a track.

Not in high hopes it will be a DET but sure would be awesome if it was. Main priority will be to have it painted up then focus on the engine.
A good crowd of us are meant to be for Driftland in July for the finalboss matsuri so who knows if the car will make it (if it doesnt need an engine conversion)
I have seen a lot of cars come from japan with a turbo timer even though they are na. think its just with the idea of letting the car cool down after a rag.
also with regards driftland, bring it f feck anyways if its n/a, still 160 odd bhp isnt there?? all ya need is speed!

Yeah wont take me long to get it squared up. I do all my own body work as my father owns a commercial body shop so i work away at my own stuff.
Should be picking up a standard spoiler from Chopaholic on the site as he's now running full origin stuff. Will be on the lookout for 2 standard front wings also.
Dont want to start ordering too much stuff until i get final pics and spec from Alan.

So, some of the pics I've received. Haven't the rest uploaded but not much more to show really. Hasn't got a DET but that was a long shot really. The sr20de seems to have an aftermarket plenum, no idea on brand or anything, it also has an apexi avc-r which is worth a good few quid and a 5zigen exhaust system which seems to be good money also. Have a standard spoiler sorted and a good fresh set of Spec R skirts being sent out to me today. Should hopefully have the boat organised soon.

I don't think thats an aftermarket plenum it only looks like a sticker on a normal one. The car doesn't look to bad! I'd love a n/a sr20 i bet in the right hands there not bad for drifting at all! From what ive heard there alot more reliable aswell sure what more could you want!
Im not sure myself as im not too well versed on nissans but just going by what I was told. Ill keep it n/a until i get it tested and painted up but will det it eventually. I have an mx5 there i use for lanes rallies so one n/a screamer is enough for now and i really want to get into a good going turbo car and go nuts lol

Thanks men. Its proving harder than i thought to get an SR20DET at realistic money. Even for bare engines. Main focus now is saving the money for port fees. Once thats done its -
1. MOT & Registration
2. Coilovers
3. Wheels
4. Paint
5. Engine work.

Tut tut as the lads said n/a sr's really aren't bad at all like I know mine will drift away in 3rd in the wet once you commit to a bend .... Would you not think of just squeezing a bit more power out of the n/a instead of spending the money on a DET? I know youve the engine bought already but just might be food for thought ?

I was always wanting to convert to a DET, I have a 1.8 n/a mx5 and a mark 2 escort so i've been after a bit of turbo fun for a while now. Just one of them itches that needs scratched.

Will clean it up the valve cover tomorrow and give it some paint. Someone broke a coilpack bolt in the cover so need to drill and tap that out.
So painted the valve cover last night and went with none of the above colours lol not sure if i like the colour either so could be changed soon.

looks alright, was that a purple shade you went for or was it an accident? think it looks class!
It was meant to be a nicer shade. Doesnt look as bad now its darkened down a bit.

Looks good, should mask around the writing and rub the paint off the letters with a few different grades of sand paper done this on mine finishes it off nice!

I done the same as what he said except i used a light file and kept it level then polished it. no need to mask off the letters. The engine came out well after
Got the call to collect the car today. Glad i held out for an import now. After a lick of paint its goona be a fantastic example. Hard to beat a clean fresh underside.

Looks good and clean anyway. You got lucky with a good clean underside could as easily been battered with fork lifts lol.
Starting to prep stuff for paint. Not decided fully on a colour yet. Will be blue/dark purple anyway. On the hunt for two standard wings if anyone has them.

You bought a brilliant base car to start with anyway! The underside is so dry and clean thats exactly what you want. Keeping tabs on this build dude keep it up!
Has it git an open diff?? If so ill buy it. I have a spec r lsd if your interested
Has an LSD in it lad, seems to be locking up ok for now. I never even opened it up to see what was in it.

Havent got much more work done, been flatout with other peoples cars. Just nabbed a set of coilovers this morning. Got them ultra cheap. Also ordered a nismo gearknob and carbon centre console from Aliexpress.

Fuck never realised it was the blue car with the bad paint! A big difference she's spotless now. Little more low and she'll be nearly perfect

Changed back to the tracers and lowered it a bit more. ordered a new z32 last week so still waiting for it to arrive, ordered a new downpipe and elbow about 20minutes ago. collected the engine loom last night and lifting a set of nismo 555s tonight. hopefully be boosting soon. need to order a fmic if i cant get a cheap second hand one, dump valve and a few other wee odds and sods.

Thanks lad. I have spacers and all here for it but im not fussed on rolling the arches. ive trimmed the lips for a bit more clearance so i could go lower. might go 15mm or so on the front once im changing the engine.
Picked up the grey car in Dublin this morning. Washed, checked over and sold it there this evening.
