I sold my TME evo to fund other priorities.

Although I was fully committed to selling the evo there has been a bit of a hole that needed to be filled.

Recently I was looking for a rwd and I'm a JDM man at heart.

Heres what I secured last night at the Japanese auctions.

Drove it in to the NCT centre today for my VRT assessment appointment. They couldn't find any skyline on the system and as a result it's still not VRT'd. Revenue have to contact me within ten days to tell me how much it is, then back in to pay it.

02-07-14, 21:16
What's the CO2 rating down as? If you're valuing it at €6500 pre VRT, then the rate of €1710 for VRT is fair enough since they're valuing it similar to what you are. They tried to charge with €1800 to VRT my FB RX7, but I appealed it and got it down to €800.

mossyhennebry
02-07-14, 21:20
The issue I have is not the 'value' of the car or the omsp.

My issue is that for the last 7years vrt was €720, at a rate of 36%, with an OMSP of €2000. Now its OMSP is down at €4750. Revenue already got over €1500 customs from me.

JayoM
02-07-14, 21:29
In fairness though, an OMSP of €2000 is way too low for an R32. An OMSP of €4750 is probably right. Don't get me wrong, I think VRT is the biggest load of bullshit, but thats the system. If they were only worth 2 grand then that would be shit, but their OMSP is pretty much spot on.

mossyhennebry
02-07-14, 21:40
Ae86 twincams are down with an OMSP OF €2000.

A ps13 has an OMSP of €2200

An s15 silvia turbo is €2000

Does any of it make sense?????

JayoM
02-07-14, 21:51
Those OMSPs don't make any sense. But the OMSP for an R32 makes perfect sense. You won't pick up an R32 for 2k! If the system was any good though, it would be charged at the OMSP at the time you started importing it.

jonnyrb
02-07-14, 21:57
I know ya feel like your gettin robbed blind with other lads getting vrt for a grand less but stick with it and save for the vrt its a feckin gorgeous car, and your appeal may come up.

mossyhennebry
02-07-14, 22:12
In order to appeal it - i first have to pay it.

mossyhennebry
25-07-14, 18:48
The saga continues...

I paid €1710 VRT and taxed it online that week as I needed it taxed for a vintage car run I was taking part in. The log book arrived and to my surprise Revenue have it registered as a bloody convertible. A mate then noticed that it was down as 1990cc instead of 1998cc.

I rang NCTS, they said they'd look into it!

I rang Revenue and dropped the log book into them to send it back to Shannon for the amendments.

Just got in the door, checked the post, new logbook. Woohoo. But it's a replacement of the exact same one that was sent back!

Glad to see your sticking with it! Would have been a pity to have sold it when you came so far! Looks so much better without the stickers!
