well lads,

any heads on this have a handy way figured out to do a leak test on my intake manifold?. boost is creeping at high revs, in like 3rd gear boot down it'll boost petfect til 5k ish revs and then shoot up and severely over boost.. and also just when i come on boost its not as responsive, boost guage reads likes of 0.9 bar for a few seconds and then drops and holds 0.6 and iv power again.. i know its not my penny flay getting stuck in my elbow, actuator is perfect, new turbo, all vacuums are perfect, as are i.c. pipes.. it cant be anything but the intake manifold.. i just have a built head on it, i used a new half seal but re used the deal from the bottom half to the head, it appeared fine.. i found the seal torn from the pipe going from the rocker cover to the intake manifold, fixed that, and its bit better, which again is why im thinking inlet manifold.. iv a full spare one here but want to do a leak test first..

id apprieciate any inputs peeps :)

spray bottle with fairy liquid an water in it spray it all over it an give it a couple a revs watch for the bubbles works for me when u cant use the compressor

Cheers lad, I'll try it later.. I'll go grey over the fuckin thing.. I'm after trying everything else with it.. And wats vert weird is, I said I'd pipe up the recirculation valve to see if it made any difference, coz I had it all blocked off blowing out tru the filter, but the car was behaving the same.. But when I blocked just the vacuum to the recirculation valve the car was hesitant but held 0.6 bar and reved out every gear, obviously thats not right having it running that way but that must be compensating for a leak or something?

Went looking tonight, no obvious leaks, started ripping, only got top half of manifold off, everything looked ok.. I'll order all new gaskets and re seal everything..

U might tell me the function of the valve mounted to the bottom of the manifold?. It's nothing to do with the idle control on the side is it

the one with the blue 2 pin plug??

if so the one on the bottom is the cold start valve that then runs to the idle controll valve on the top they both work together

Ya that one, this idling perfect cold, rough enough warm.. if seen a few greddy intake manifolds and having seen the cold start valves?

wasnt on in ages dudes.. changed all my intake gaskets, still the same.. so splashed out on a proper boost leak tester, found few slight leaks, one vacuum was slowing leaking at 1 bar and 2 intercooler joiners.. but with these fixed it was still the same, went around with soapey water and found tis leaking from the back of the compressor housing :/ .. im going at it again saturday.. has anyone here experience with opening these and sealing them? its a hks 25 30.. just around where the actuator bracket is bolted on its leaking..

Removed turbo , took compressor housing off, sealed everything, I'll leave it dry before I pressure test it tomorrow, id say all was successful :) .. I'll post pics and videos soon..
