Hey guys!

Since the "new" forum is so quiet, I decided to FINALLY open up a build thread too!
I have already a blog (see signature) but thought I give it a go here too, to keep myself motivated and get shit done!

Many of ye might still know her from previous owners or you simply know me :)

The project progress will be a slow one but as I said, I hope to get more shit done since I open up this thread :)
Also: she will be back on the road again , yaaaaay! Hopefully in a few months!

I haven't changed too much, just a few bits here and there.
Gonna stop writing now and post a few (old and current) pics ;)
Also: wont go into the spec atm, if I get new stuff, you will see it here but wont write up all of the stuff she got already. maybe if u ask ;)

So now the pics!

When I picked her up over 2 years ago:

Got a bit of stuff done this weekend.
The bodykit is ready to be sprayed (more or less), only need to find out the paint code now.
While the filler was drying (modified the front bumper a little bit), I finally started to put bits on the car again, so now she has a new set of rear lights :)
More to come soon!

Update:

As you might saw already, last weekend we got a missile car.
We spent Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the shed to strip the S13 and fit coilovers (and simply admire the new baby).

Besides that I also took out the dashboard in my S14 to get it flocked.
I honestly thought this is an easy job but I was terribly wrong.
Even with a manual (that seems to be not fully accurate) and a bit of help (thanks Declan), I got it out and delivered it to Barrys Motorsport.

Lets see how it will look like!!! :)

cant wait for sunny days to do proper pictures!

not much update on the car, even though im up in the unit 3 days a week for about a month now!

bit of stuff on the new s13 was done and s14 still sits pretty (but bit dusty) haha

ive got som time on my hands and i always liked body work, so i was thinking a bit and after repairing my bumpers, i thought i give the whole fibre- glass thingy a go.
what i mean: trying to make my own fibre glass parts :D
saw some cool s14 pics online and have a few things in mind for my own one. as i couldnt find those kind of vents, i just thought why not making them on my own?

man some work to be honest, but lets see how that goes in the future, seriously having fun making fibre glass stuff!!

I love DIY tutorials!

Thats why I thought I make some too in case I ever manage something cool ha

So far I've only made a tutorial about how to remove a doorcard.
Boring i know but there is people out there who might dont know how to yet.

Just like myself a few months ago :P

Only a little bit of update, got mint headlights from Jay (as Peter didnt want to sell them to me in the first place haha), and should have my finished dashboard soon too.

She will be on a hold for a few days now cause my other half and me are going to focus on the missile for Sunday (superdrift)

first time out on track for about a year!
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

lady89
14-04-14, 09:28
Yesterday we went to test and drift our new missile S13 and I'm still surprised how unbelievable well she goes!
she pulls amazingly and gave as no trouble at all!

SO SO SO happy about that spontaneous buy, even tho the shell istn too great, she was parked up in the wet for too long..

and the most stupid thing ever happened!

it's been 1,5 years since I was out drifting (on a track) so I felt like I forgot everything and delivered a very poor performance haha

however, when the "open pit" session was on the late afternoon, I was out for almost an hour on the track as there was barely people out. no overheating, just practicing for an hour and shredding the new tyres :D

That helped a lot and by the end of the day I was flying and got a very good feeling for the s13.

just too bad that there was not many people around, so no pics or anything but I have witnesses that I did not too bad after all haha

also a MAAAASSSIIIIVEEE thanks to Alan who helped us throughout the day with adjusting the toe and camber, such a difference with a few small changes :)

after lots of hours working on the car and a full day of drifting yesterday, I'm simply wrecked and feel every single bone in my body....LOVE IT haha

now let's get back to my S14 and focus on bringing her finally back onto the road :)

lady89

Got an exhaust for NCT and dropped the petrol cap to a painter to get the colour matched.
not too sure if he will manage (he is not sure about it), so thinking about a plan B in case they can't get the paint right...

don't want to get a complete respray now so hopefully he can match the paint for the bodykit :S

we had her out on track in WGH and she will make an appearance in Tynagh shortly.
Gave us no problem last time, even in the dry!

Now...a bit of an update:

Last weekend I meant to service the car (along with a few other things).

First of all I changed the gasket between turbo and elbow. Im pretty proud of that one, besides getting the nuts loosened, I did everything on my own :D
Never worked under my car before, so kinda happy about it.

Anyway, battery was charged and all so thought she would start (to warm up the oil and service then).

Well...she didnt start :(

She turns but we found out that there is no sparks at all (new spark plugs and also tried it the old ones).
We then measured if there was any power going through the coilpacks and there is.
So for now I assume the coilpacks are gone as the car was sitting for so long and they are still standard ones.
Im getting coilpacks for the weekend now, so hopefully that fixes the problem.
If not, I will get an ignitor and hope that fixes it.

Im afraid it could be something else alltogether since the dashboard is out, maybe I pulled a wrong wire? I don't think so as I was pretty careful but I will get the wires sorted as well on the weekend (to check if all in place, I don't have a clue what wire is what)

Today I will be up in the unit again to prep the bodykit, yaaaaaaaay. it will be sprayed this weekend too :)

The weekend was very productive and besides the fact that Nessy is not running yet, I am very happy :)

After weeks and weeks trying to find a painter or get decent prices on getting the bodykit sprayed, I decided to do it on my own.
Our buddy who is renting the unit with us is into spraying and currently building a spray-boot.
Even though the boot is not ready yet, I got the paint and everything else and with help and a bit of advice I started to spray the bodykit on my own.
Note to myself: DONT FORGET THE MASK. Man was I high after the primer was on. haha

Besides the preparation (I wasnt too much into details as I was just sick of the filler haha and it will be only a temporary solution anyway), it turned out pretty well.

Especially if you consider the conditions (no heater, big shed, cheap spray gun).
So the bodykit is finished :D

Tomorrow I will have up a fella (whos known here :P) who will come and have a look at Nessy to check out what the spark-issue is.
I did lots of research in the meantime and got a good few tips (thanks to everyone at this stage!!), but I don't have time to experiment, so I need it properly done....QUICK haha

Only 6 days left until Nessy is back on the road!!!

Whats left to do:
If I don't look at "NCT" stuff that I have to get done also, it is only the interior now (and of course get her running).
Putting in seats, harness, dashboard and carpet.

The preparation for NCT is another story but I decided I take care of it later.....

Pictures will follow this evening :)

twas nice meeting ya Deco :)

I actually forgot to mention IDC :D
This time I was there on Saturday instead of Sunday.
Even though the level of driving (pro's) is insane, but I somehow started to find it a lil (just a lil!!!)bit boring as it is predictable. Still awesome to watch but whenever I hear James Dean is driving, I simply know who is going to win haha.

It was brilliant. It was so exciting and refreshing to see all the "rookies" driving.
I cant believe that there is a good few of them still in the rookie class :O

Anyway, was a good day out and met a goof few new people (something i always like).

So...here as well a picture of my spraying.
The other pictures didn't turn out well, so I'll leave you with this "sneak peak" now.

Stay tuned for more updates, as it will be only a few more days until shes going out on the road again :)

Update:

Nessy is back running again!
Im so happy :D

It turned out that the plug and wires going into the CAS were not quiet "right".
Its fixed for now but I will get it replaced eventually.

Saturday was a savage day, so took her out into the sun to do a bit of cleaning and tidy up, I fitted the dashboard as well and yesterday I serviced her.

She already sounds better and I can't wait now to drive her :D
Calling insurance tomorrow, will get tax on Thursday and booking her in for NCT soon.
Expect lots of pictures in the next few weeks ha :)

Now I only have to put in the seats in(have the rails but seems tricky to get them off and put them on brand new Sparco seats), put in the carpet (custom one) and Im good for now :D
Oh yeah and fit the bodykit, but small thing to do :)

Hachi
02-06-14, 22:41
Awesome news, I bet it's a relief to have found the cause! When you say the wires weren't quite "right", Any info about that?

decobyrne106
02-06-14, 22:59
Well thank f*** for that then atleast it's heart is beating again! Btw, do my eyes deceive me or is that a stock s14 bumper beside the vertex one being painted aswell?

lady89
03-06-14, 09:06
@Hatchi: someone was onto the plug before and did who-knows-what and that caused the wires (leading into the plug) to be not fully connected. Almost like a loose contact. So wires into the plug and the plug itself are "fixed" now but will get it replaced soon enough.

@Deco: haha yep, standard one with a splitter on it :D
I'm going for a new bodykit (within this year) so thought I take a standard one and see how it looks instead of speanding lots of money on a new vertex front one :)

New problem.........

I discovered that the tail lights wont work.
The break lights work and the right indicator in the rear too. I switched fuses and checked if they were blown but all looked good.
Afterwards only the break lights work, so no reverse, tail or indicator lights in the rear.

I assume its something with the fuses, no clue what to do.....oooooooh the joys

lady89
05-06-14, 07:38
Good Morning :D

Wrecked but happy!
With a bit of help I got the lights-problem sorted (of course it was something small and stupid again) and I also fitted the bodykit.

Now only back in with the seat and carpet and off I go :D

Today I'm finally having a bit of time to actually sit down and write a little bit.

Where do I begin?

I pretty much kept this updated, so as you know i first had the problem that she wasn't running. My internet research brought me to the topic : Coilpacks and wiring but in the end it was only a small issue which i got sorted with Barts help (JDM Garage).

The wires and plug going into the CAS sensor were not in a good condition so we quick-fixed it but i will get that stuff replaced.

She was running…., I serviced her and she ran smooooooth as a baby. The oil that came out was surprisingly alright, which makes me belief the engine is in a good overall condition. I will get a compression test done as well to see what the story is.

A few days, before she was supposed to be out, i checked the lights and bulbs. as it was the easiest thing to do, i thought i do that at the end and assumed all was working, but how wrong I was haha.
the only lights working were headlights, break lights and front indicators. That kinda put pressure onto me as i wanted her out and no way i drive without tail lights in the dark.
and to have working indicators would be nice too :D

after talking to a few people and going through my 800+ manual (which by now i know pretty well ha) I came to the conclusion it must be the wires or fuses again.
Honestly, electronics wreck my head!!! that's something i don't like to do at all.
I then ended up checking all the fuses, even replacing some (in case they were blown but it wasn't visible).
following all the wires in the car and searching for all the earth/grounding wires.
it was such a pain, because nothing of that helped solving the problem. But at least i know now a lot more about my car, and that is my goal. Knowing EVERY single bolt and just EVERYTHING of my beloved S14 :)

The whole "lights-not-working" thing seriously frustrated me. The first time since i own this car…i was close to just cry haha

Anyway.

Bart came to the rescue again and just as i thought…it was something simple and stupid.
Problem fixed so!

The reverse lights are still not working but i will solve that soon due NCT coming up.

Right,so Thursday (that's when i got my tax disc) came up and what was left to do was the seats and carpet.
The carpet is a different story now as I customize my own carpet.

Since it turned out to be way more difficult to put the seat rails on the Sparco Seats, we left it and I took off the rail from my own Recaro seat (that was in the S13 now) and put back on my own Recaro s14 rail to fit it back into Nessy.

That took us until 1 o clock in the morning, but it was done and I decided: fuck it,why not driving her home now and see what happens.

I had my tax disc already and insurance is sorted, NCT booked so the only thing now left was the test drive.

The test drive went all well (took it very handy), besides the pulling to the left. im not too worried about it, wheel alignment will be done shortly!
Around 2am my other half and myself left the unit and funnily enough we met guards who pulled up besides us at the roundabout.
not suspicious at all to find 2 modified and race-car-ish looking cars around that time on the road. hahahaha

all was fine though and i made it home without a problem.

Friday evening i joined a few buddies to come down to barts garage for a dyno run.
I didn't want to get a dyno done in the first placed but quickly changed my mind about it.

After sorting another small issue, she was ready to go.
I was a bit disappointed by the results but was told it could be, that the dyno itself wasn't set up properly.
She made 225 HP, i was expecting at least around 235.

Anyway, nothing broke and i got great advise and help again, so all is well now.

In the beginning when i started driving her on the road, i was a bit wary and afraid something could break as she was parked up for a while but since the dyno run im more confident about her and she simply feels great.

ive noticed a small issue tho, but i will get to that another time. it doesn't affect the daily driving but i must look into it.

So the next thing(s) to do:

bad-ass alarm (needs to be fitted)
Prepare her for NCT
Get rails for the seats sorted
finish interior, even tho this will be some kind of "long term project"
get new coil packs (somehow i just want new ones haha)

and

ENJOYING THE RIDE

My first 9 days on the road with my S14 were so far interesting:

-put on around 720KM
-entered first show and shine "event" (Superdrift)
-got pulled by a guard
-got a few racing invites from Golf drivers (what is it with mk4 drivers??)
-many confused looks about the interiour
-mummy's somehow love my car ha, got plenty of talk due their sons :D
-started to twitch uncontrollable whenever I see something like a bump on the road
- getting afraid of shadows on the road (from poles) as it could be still a bump or something

So far I can't complain, shes good in juice, bit of a boost leak there tho (only in high revs).
NCT on Wednesday (which I will fail for simple things as I just don't have the time) and will see what else they don't like...

Will keep you updated :)

Funny encounter today.
Besides receiving a thumbs up this morning, I also managed to set off the alarm of a jeep after passing it to park besides it.
Must be a sensitive alarm....haha

Many things gonna be done this week/weekend to get her ready for NCT soon. Small stuff really but can't wait to have a full window!

Well well....

this is going very quiet here....the main reason is, because the forum is not really what it was before.
I am now more active on SXOC again and I will still keep my blog updated as well (signature).

Besides that, my baby is all parked up now, summer is over!
I have so many plans and I'm after getting a good few bits very soon!

Im am extremely excited because I will get some parts today that are VERY rare AND I was looking for them for about 2 years now.
I won't tell what it is though, only show the pictures when they are fitted....
:)

lady89
22-11-14, 19:23
Not much is happening at the moment. I got a few more bits and started to take of the front bits again in order to tidy her up and might respray the front bumper.

Before her big wash and parking her up then, she basically looked like this:
http://i60.tinypic.com/68vcck.jpg

Now its more like that ha
http://i58.tinypic.com/2hfi0jd.jpg

Im getting really fast in taking the front bits off by now haha

For now this will do.
I also discovered a bit of a coolant leak and must find out if its the waterpump or not.
Next plan is to get the track rod ends replaced+tracking so it will pass NCT.

lady89
06-12-14, 17:44
A bit of an update.

Last weekend the track rod ends were replaced.
I first thought it would be some kind of complicated job and since I love "learning by doing", i said i might get some help with it because i don't wanna mess around with the steering/tracking. After all, my life is very dear to me ha

JDM Garage (Bart) kindly showed me how to replace them, so next time i can do it on my own. It was way easier than i thought it would be! im delighted :)

Here the old ones compared to the new ones :)

http://i58.tinypic.com/29uqc6v.jpg
http://i62.tinypic.com/14cuy9u.jpg

The tracking was also done afterwards since i thought it must have been way off. Car is pulling badly to the left so i thought that was a result of the tracking being off.
After that was done, she still pulled to the left, so we discovered that it is actually the rear being off.
That will be looked into within the next few weeks!

What do ye think about the rear?

The rears look to be toe'd in a bit too much, the rear left more so. Have you adjustable arms on the back?

lady89
06-12-14, 19:20
i was in the belief it was still standard and as far as i remember, never looked like adjustable arms, but will investigate. no idea when that happened as well since it was all fine in the beginning, might while out on track but never had a bang

One of my latest updates is a bit of spraying that I did on the front of the car.

It wasn't necessary but it bothered me for a good while. I wanted it a bit freshened up and all in one colour too.

It wasn't a big job but it makes such a difference!

Love the look now.

I also got my new water pump, so that's on the list next :)

Almost everything is back on, but i discovered that the fan actually hits one of the hoses (top left corner on the pic)

Gonna see how i can tweek around that to make all the way free for the new fan :)

Hey guys,

its been a little while again since I updated my blog or the forums but that doesnt mean nothing has been done in the meantime.
I simply have no time to sit down and upload pictures and write about my progress. So much is going on in my life atm (which is all positive and good) and I have been working on Nessy in the meantime as well.

For all who are curious, I will give you a (picture-less) update now!

I have replaced the waterpump, thermostat and fan and put everything back together. Unfortunately i cracked the thermostat housing while putting it back, a new one is on the way already.
I ran into one problem while fitting everything, it was the fan catching slightly on one of the hoses. With some suggestions from the forum and some research I wanted to fix the problem but then the funniest thing happened.
Before I did some blocking of pipes, cutting etc, I actually just took all pipes off (intercooler pipes) and put them back on, but moved them slightly. With that little trick i was a bit playing around until i managed to clear the fan area. It is still very close to the hose (2mm) but will definitley do now.
After that I had her up and running and everything went fine.

Since I have an aftermarket steering wheel (Personal) I had to get the horn sorted, so my S14 will pass NCT (MOT). Since electronics and wires are not my cup of tea, I asked a buddy for help, who did a fantastic job!
We also measured a few wires/plugs to see what was working and not which helped me learn a good new bit.

My next plan is now:

Fix (solder) the reverse light wires
Fix (solder) the indicator wires
Fix (solder) the washer wires

Not sure if the breaking-wire is a thing now with S-bodys or if its just my luck haha.

Not much is left now and I also booked an appointment with NCT in 3 weeks time.
THat means in exactly 3 weeks she will be out on the road again!!

Stay tuned for that!!!!! :)

Its been only a month since i update this, but it feels like forever and SO MUCH happened!

I will split ALL updates in more posts over the next few days because otherwise it simply gets too much :)

For now i would like to let you know though, that my baby is fully road legal now!

Since i couldn't attend the first round of IDC (half sick :( ), i thought i at least have to take her for a short spin today...the weather was just too good!
And i think i truly needed it after all the stress i had lately, so here we have two pictures.

More will follow soon!

OH NOES!

what is it with Nessy and the coolant leak problems :S

after all the nice upgrades (new waterpump, new thermostat, new thermostat housing, new fan, refurbished pullyes etc) i have now another coolant leak :(

was on a spin the other day and my trusty yashio factory gauge suddenly went up to 100 degrees (coolant temp) and when i came back home (was close to my place thank god) i had no coolant left.
put in some coolant, nothing came out and stayed all in until next morning.

drove away again and same happened, heated up very quickly and had not much coolant left.

now i just tested it again (cant jack her up in the driveway atm), water in, all good, turning car on and let it run..... leaking starts.

seems to come from the rad (bottom) directly so did a pic there.

the water seems to come out from the bottom only (inbetween where the rad and metal is, u can see it a bit on the pic)

is that the rad on the way out?
couldnt jack her up so cant see if its a hose but pretty sure its not and coming from the bottom of the rad.

any ideas?

probably go for a new rad now as well ha, yaaay shiny new parts

hi_im_fil
21-05-15, 21:22
Is it a standard rad? They're known for leaking and partially blocking. Go for a new alloy one if you think its the rad. Quick and easy fix/upgrade

lady89
22-05-15, 09:23
yes standard one, matter of time I suppose, I cant remember seeing that poodle thing at the bottom of it (barely visible on the pic) so was wondering if that's the sign now to get a new one :)

lady89
25-05-15, 09:12
Just ordered a new Alloy rad!
Cant wait to replace the old one, thank god it's an easy job to do as well, stuck in the driveway where I can barely work on a car :(
But that will be fine!

On another note:

Where can I get Samco hoses or similar ones locally or in Ireland?
Might as well order some and replace the standard ones.

Thinking about it now....the standard parts lasted a good while, considering I did around 10 trackdays in it too :O

Love Nissan :D

Got my new rad (more to that later) and stuck now that way :(

Being in the driveway with almost no tools and this... the joys!
Must see now how i can fit the valve (that goes on that pipe bit) so it wont get stuck against the rad.
Have no movement with the pipes because otherwise it wont work with the intercooler....
could have been so much easier without that stupid restricted pipes ha

Sorted!!
finished replacing the rad yesterday evening, took a test drive and all was good.

Driving to work today (after over a week not having her out) was such a blast :D
As it says per Japspeeds site, it does keep it cooler than a standard rad, my standard water temp gauge is acting up now but still have an accurate one additionally so can see the current temperature.

Will post more pics later this evening!

Well well well,
it has been a little while since i updated this here.

With the new year, i try to do better and keep this a bit more updated.

The last year has been fantastic car-wise and after I got all sorted (which also includes a brand new exhaust system), i got the car NCT'd and had a wonderful time driving it.

I have a few new plans ahead but cant share too much right now.

The current situation is, that the S14 is parked up for the winter, so i will start taking stuff apart shortly.

I will also start posting some bits from our Japan trip last September so stay tuned for that also :)

Although a few of those updates are not really new updates...but thought I start posting more here, so here is another part I got a while ago:

Since I had a few emissions issue's whenever I sent the 14 for the test, i started with the usual stuff first.

I took out the decat and got this brand new cat.
It's from Japspeed:

In the end I went with a full new exhaust (more to that another time) :p So this wasn't really necessary. Might selling i

I forgot the following feeling:

Many times now (since I have the car) the following happens:
I make a step forward (and good progress) and then something happens and puts me back 2 steps which means im back at the beginning again.
Thats only happens when i come up with new ideas/projects and the fact that I want (and do) everything on my own on the car. (mechanical stuff, painting, electrical/wire jobs, etc etc)
Sometimes i really wonder why i dont just hand the car to someone else and let them do their work instead of going through all the struggle myself.
Im not a mechanic at all and before i got the 14 years ago, i basically had no mechanical knowledge whatsoever. I learned most of it in a "learning by doing" kinda way, which takes a lot of time and nerves.
I really do make my life harder with all of it but then on the other hand: it makes me incredibly happy and the passion and drive for it never stopped.
Anyway, enough of the that, i just wanted to give you some history to let you know why this weekend was rather frustrating.

I gave myself a new deadline: end of March/beginning of April. I will book the car for NCT around that time so she will be out on the road soon again.

This weekend i started to tidy a good few bits (front) and wires. I have the whole front off the car at the moment so it was easy enough to work away. One of the things that annoyed me for a while was the intercooler that has a slight movement (barely noticable actually) and all the wires in the engine bay.

So i started with the intecooler and pipes and made sure all is neat and bolt on perfectly fine. I also have 2 custom made intercooler brackets on the bottom of it so there is no movement. Looks kinda like this (its 2 of them):

http://i67.tinypic.com/mts8w5.jpg

But then....SNAP...one of the bolts actually snapped so now one side/bracket is loose. Not sure what to do now since half of the bolt is stuck as well so cant use the mounting point of the intercooler. Damit!

http://i67.tinypic.com/v3eizd.jpg

Trying to find out now if i can get some brackets made up for the top of the radiator to help mount it on from the top and not the bottom!
Pretty sure I saw them brackets somewhere before, just need to find out where to get them :(
Although the intercooler is still pretty neat and barely moves on the car but it annoys me that there is still some small tiny movement (HELLO ODC).
So thats a bit frustrating.

How the front looks at the moment: (nevermind the yellow tape, ran out of the black one ha)
http://i68.tinypic.com/etejyb.jpg

Also:

I got a frame made up for my standard passenger seat rails to fit my new seats. It is incredibly hard to find "ready-made" seat rails, im trying to find something for months!
So i was pretty deligthted when my buddy told me he could do something for me. He made the frame that i only needed to bolt onto the rails and then bolt the seat onto the whole lot to fit it.

Guys i was so excited! Did the whole lot yesterday.....
However, turns out the frame wasn't fitting properly, 1) the seat is way too high up 2) i could not bolt the rails into the chassis anymore since the frame wasn't angled properly. (after further inspection).

im so frustrated at this stage! Have a new pair of seats but cant get them to fit.
Maybe i should pick up on welding and metal-works, thats the only think i havent done yet...and do that myself too :(

More updates coming the next few days, feel like i wrote loads already :)

I'd be in the same position as yourself. I learnt everything I know by working on cars in the evening or weekends. What I find most frustrating is having to correct others bad work previously carried out on the car. I find it will never be done to your standards unless you take the time to do it yourself. Seat rails are the most annoying thing in the world to get right [emoji28]

The sudden pressure and stress??
hahahah just booked the car for the 26th March so there is no more excuses anymore!

Also here a pic of one of the yummy parts i got within the last year or so, a Japspeed sport cat! Probably being sold soon since i got a complete new Japspeed exhaust system in the end :)

Another small update.

I have a new bodykit for the 14 this year. The skirts and rear bumper are being resprayed at the moment and are nearly done.
Here a sneak peak:

http://i64.tinypic.com/atrwgi.png

Im going to use the old front bumper for the first few weeks since i have something special in mind for the new front bumper and not sure if it can be done in time.
Lets see :)

Also another pic:

Here a small bit of history of the car.
Those stickers came from Japan aka the car was imported with those stickers. Many times i was thinking of removing them (not a fan of the colour etc) but i decided to leave them on. Simply to carry on the history.
What you reckon, YAY or NAY?

Finally have time to update:

I got my freshly resprayed bodykit back(except front bumper), here a pic of the skirts. im delighted and paint looks like it matches really well again :)
Going to use the old front bumper for now but have a brand new one sitting at home, have something special in mind for it so just trying to find some time and then its gonna be fitted as well.
http://i66.tinypic.com/105p1e0.jpg

Also finally sorted the IAVC hose. The fan started eating away on it and as you can see the previous fix got damaged too. To be fair this was at the very end before i parked her up so all good that way.

Instead of ordering a new hose for 80quid and risking more damage, i actually got those Samco tape fixes, that stuff is amazing!!!! Here some more to show ye:

http://i67.tinypic.com/2a7hhcj.jpg

I've better clearence here now but you can clearly see what happened before

http://i67.tinypic.com/2873qmw.jpg

Then I finally fitted my new GKtech fan, had one before but one of the blades broke off (i know right), so got a replacement one since im incredible happy with their products and quality.
Said I also order some fancy looking cooling panel and fitted that too. Really happy how this actually looks!!!

Finally all the new parts fitted on the car.
Also you can see the new Japspeed rad, got a couple of things from Japspeed over the years too and happy how all turns out now :)

http://i68.tinypic.com/14l3rzm.jpg

Besides that I also fitted the bumper bar.
Car is taxed and insured as well so aiming to have the rest finished over the weekend!!!!

Quick one:

All going well so far, had the NCT yesterday and went surprisingly well!

only 2 things to sort:
Steering wheel/airbag and something seems to be up with the coilovers.

Since he put up the steering wheel and airbag light desperately on the fail sheet, I have to actually get a standard one now to fit it back on :(
No way around it unfortunately.

Im a bit surprised about the front coilovers tho, they are still pretty new and havent seen much mileage so there shouldnt be an issue. He said something appears to be "loose inside" but couldnt really tell me much more. I have them adjusted to the softest setting so im wondering if this might be causing an issue somehow.
Either way, will get them out and investigate.
Re-test should be an easy one :D
