this might be a stupid question but had a bit of a accident in watergrasshill last time out so replaced the rad today all starting grand but just wondering can i run the car without the viscous fan and put a fan running cold air infront of where it sat? and also there is some gunk on the dipstick, could this be caused by just lying up as it hasn't been out since or is it a sign that the head gasket needs replacing? thanks :)

as regards the dip stick m52's have a habit of doing that if they have been sitting up and the dip stick wasnt pushed down properly, what about under the oil cap though?
if you have mayo there i would be a little more worried

there is a fan on the outside of the rad blowing in cold air just wondering if i put another one inside the rad instead of the viscous fan as the blade had broken off will this work?

didnt have too much a gawk at that i think tho it was kinda mushy alright under it but that could be condensation too will take a look after work later.
