View Full Version : my idc 2014 rb200 build
said i might as well throw up a build thread of my is200, so it started out as my everyday road car as was bought seriously cheap, mainly wanted a cheap slider! picked up a 2way diff and a set of tanabie coilovers for the time being....

then due to petrol prices i got sick of it! bought a cheaper car and left that aside!! around the same time "driftfest" started up so got a new brain wave to try out track days! so pulled out the hammer and screwdrivers and got rippin, cut out the boot and had it ready to go!

so it came the time after doing a few days at tynagh when wanted more power and do more tracks, so idc was my next big goal! knew the car wouldnt be finished for this year so set the goal for 2014! so two days after superdrift went and got a rb25det up the country for good money, got a turbo and two gear boxs of alan bermigham so i had the main bits sitting infront of me

sent the whole lot down to gareth burke in drd motorsport to do the conversion! i had been waiting a while to see any bit of progress but its fairly comin together at this point, the engine and gear box are mounted, prop shaft is made and the engine loom is done so car

and now for the time being its just a waiting game! calling down to him tomorrow to see is there much more left to do!

Haha Ya planning to do it since dropped it down!! Just left drd about a hour ago, heard the bitch turn over! I was like a child at Christmas! Alan will u buy the 14 off me so I can get my front mount and other bits haha
so this is how its stands today! the engine is turning over but still needs few minor bits for it to fire up! he is having a bit of bother with the stearing rack to the rb pump, last few bits needed is a front mount, rad, throttle cable and full exhaust system!

Nice one scan, lexus have a pretty good lock on them spacers and extended arms and moded knuckles will give u serious angle :D

So I had to sell my Silvia to pay for few new bits and to pay for the conversion, ordered a brand new front mount off Shane o Sullivan in elite autos, will have it on Tuesday morning, got a 2nd hand alloy rad and a ball off tyres too yesterday! Will upload few pictures in a bit!

So I was dropping the rad down to drd today and got the shock of my life to hear that the car was starting! It won't stay running due to no front mount but still was unreal to hear it start for a few seconds! Just to tidy up everything and put the last few finishing touches onto it, looking for a clutch fork, a rb throttle cable and a few gauges if anyone has them cheap! Il upload a video of it starting in a bit!

Got the car booked in to get the exhaust done on Thursday then she will be able to come home thank God, and it's booked in for tynagh on the 22nd to see what it's like! Can't wait!

happy days! collected the car this morning after a long wait!! the only problem is the waterpump is leaking and there is a bit of a miss fire in it! havta bring it back to him on monday to sort out those bits! but on a happy note i got the exhaust fitted to it this evening and it is going to rattle tynagh on sunday week! ha

Was only takin to Shane Kenny about this tonight woo she's almost there
ya its so close now!! so got the skirts,bumper and wheels on today! wheels where far to wide so had to do alot of messing to get them right, cut out a line of the wings and quaters, flared them as much as possible but for a finish i had to raise it a bit!

Dropping it back to Drd tomorrow to get the last few touches before tynagh at the weekend, needs to do the timing belt and waterpump, sort a small miss fire, and fit gauges and a fan then she will be ready to go thank God!

so superdrift today didnt go as i planned, spent the full day trying to sort a over heating problem but no good, head gasket was gone, but still went out for a few laps to get used to the power! big difference to the standard lexus! waiting for pictures to upload at the minute!
First is200/ altezza I actually really like looks aggressive as fuck. Shame about her not running right I'm sure you will get it sorted but you can fuck off if you think Gareth's going to do yours before mine haha :)

The black is nice ! But if u wanna change, check out mazda rx 8 mettalic red, it is unreal when the sun hits it.
i love the black but i want it to stand out! haha was trying to stay away from red if possible cause u can get red altezzas! ha

also picked up this cwest front bumper 'CHEAP' cause its ruff as a bears hole but wouldnt bother me at the price i got it, but the next problem is it wont fit over my bumper bar so its gona be a tuff choice!!
