Right since no one else has bothered putting up an aftermath tread and also to break ur the for sale threads i taugh I'd stick this up. So Hw'd everyone get on? Didnt get down myself with work, heard the semi pros were good on Saturday and what happened Paul stryker, is he ok? didnt hear much about the pro's though, is it true that there was only 10-15 pro entries? I know team wkd and Martin French wernt guna be there but taugh that there wuda been more than that? Anyway what did everyone else think?

I agree Ennis isnt a great track, but Ennis has always been a round of pd and its different to the likes of cork where the bigger power cars can just pull away , its good to have a few rrounds where power isn't such a factor ! Spectator wise tho yes it isn't as good as mondello or punchestown obviously! Why such a poor pro entry ?

agreed its not the best of a track . but it does suit the lower hp cars and n/a car's . was over very quick once qualifing started due to such a small entry of pro cars... any one know what happed to sully's car when it stalled mid lap ??

also was nice to see there are alot of nice going road cars still left around as seen quite a few nice ones yesterday !!

French had fueling issues getting the car mapped and wez wasnt risking the car round a carpark the week before BDC.

i was there on the saturday, saw some awesome driving! feel bad for paul stryker, he took some hit, that was an awesome car :(

as for the ennis track, realistically we dont really have many tracks in ireland, so thats why we gotta use car parks. hasnt stopped the irish from kicking everyone elses ass in competition around the world

I think you've been watching too many Formula D events and playing too much Forza. In what sense do you consider it a shit track? In my mind it was quite a good track and although it is a small track, it did appear to be quite a challenging one for the drivers at that. I don't think it is fair to say that IDC are only there for the money, like the guys have said, it has been on the roster for a long time so it's no different from Punchestown etc. If you were to remove Ennis from the season, what would you put in it's place? Tynagh? As far as spectating goes I wouldn't consider Tynagh to be exactly great unless you are Media, after Tynagh I'm out of ideas for a track out west. IDC uses Clare Marts in Ennis for one of its events because #1 It is able to get permission to use that location and more importantly #2 so that fans of the IDC series that live in the West don't always have to travel to the other side of the country to see the event. You also need to realise that IDC stands for Irish Drift Championship i.e. it is a primarily a motorsport competition, spectators second. I think in all fairness until you realise what really makes a good and a bad motorsport event, you and your buzzer-mobile Glanza should stick to Shlabfest and BooStancers.

I was there on Saturday and really enjoyed it. My Personal Two Cents

What would you like to see done to improve it? Or make it better?

What would you like to see done to improve it? Or make it better? maybe the place to be re tarmaced and to run the track the opposit way :) i also found in the last two years the track wasnt as wide and there is loads of space to the side of the track to make it wider and more intresting :) i also found that i headed in about two o clock as ime local and the gap after the super lap was way too long and i was bored out i aloso understand though that the drivers do need a break though so its unavoidable :) my two cent any way

Nothing wrong with Ennis. Unfortunately this country has fuck all tracks and PD/IDC do what they can with what they have. I usually go well in ennis but couldn't get my head around it this weekend as Kieran had changed it again and THIS is what makes the Irish the best in the world, he keeps us on our toes.

Hero of the weekend was Stephen Harte, what a man :) Loved every minute of his driving. Felt bad for Paul & Ian Stryker but it was some lap before the crash!!

Mike fitz was awesome all weekend, really happy to see him going well and the car performing.

My own weekend was shite. Qualified 32 by the skin on my balls, .1 of a point in (Sorry Tom)!! Was paired against Jack Shanahan but i really did not go down easy :) After 2 runs we were awarded a one more time and on the first run chasing down Jack i spun on entry after going in too hard!!! But really enjoyed battling with him.......when we were back in the pits and shaking hands he says "I hit the wall, my dad is gonna kill me", made me laugh ha ha good man Jack!!

Sat night was drunken.......Tom Murphy is a ledger!! Green tea was tasty!!! Hedge hopping was also fun although i lost the OMT!! Roll on Cork, i have some unfinished business with that place! :)

I had an awesome weekend!

Track was tricky in the wet but once it dried up it was great fun and I somehow managed to qualify even though I was all over the place in practice?!

The Auburn Lodge was hopping and Queens was great craic and it was great to catch up with everybody:D

Congrats to the staff and drivers for putting on a show and the season has been awesome so far!

As for the criticisms posted here:

Ennis as mentioned is in the drift calender to cater for the drift fans from the west and make it cheaper to attend an event i.e. no hotels etc. The track is laid out to avoid the manholes/poor surface areas and there is not much smooth tarmac to work with. Underpowered cars have a real shot at Ennis and this makes the championship fair and throws up some new faces. Stephen Harte won on Saturday and the Semi Pro guys were fantastic on Sunday and it makes things really interesting.

As for the usual "PD are in it for the money" "I could make a better series" rants. Your spot on. I reckon it should be free in and the track should be on the moon with regular shuttles to and from and no breaks for 36 hours. Then, and only then, I might comment that it was 'average'.

iv never played forza and i dont watch formula d,
why cant i give my two cents on the track without you comin out insulting my car?buzzer mobile that is good alright
i think this was my third time there and i have gone to all the rounds i could over the years so i think i know if its a good event or not.
would it be goin ahead without spectators???
its an unreal rough track and what with walls everywhere why do you have to be a serious driver to have any chance of comin out without having broke up your car,its already expensive enough for drivers
and just to add iv never been to a schlabfest

How can any sport go ahead without spectators, in case you didnt realise IDC have massive overheads to hold each event e.g Insurance, premises rent etc.....
And its a Championship the whole point of it is for drivers to push hard and rub walls and entertain the crowd, rubbing walls is part of the Drifting:rolleyes: I say well done IDC for even making it happen at all!

Wheres the like button??

I had an awesome day Sunday apart from having the worst hangover ever and getting soaked ta my ballsack within the first 5minutes of arriving. Cheers ta D-turbo-ginger-lad for the lift down.....rattly bag of shite :P

I love Ennis. Apart from it being so close ta home and being a quick spin down the road, its so different from them other tracks like Mondello and Punchestown that I usually get ta. Its seems ta be more about the technicality instead of the balls out speed, as could be seen on Sunday with the difference is grip levels after clip2, caught so many drivers out. Also how often do ya get ta be so close to a 6oobhp monster rubbing a wall?? Not many tracks in the world let ya do that...be gratefull for it.

Lads on the mic's did a serious job. Could hear ye a lot better than Mondello and really made the difference when explaining their decisions for scoring in battles, I feel a lot of spectators learn a lot more when ye can hear why ye picked whoever ye picked.

Lastly who where the ledgends with the couch on the roof of the van??

Ennis 4life.....#bebostunnaz2k13

well said, I'm from limerick i wait all year around for Prodrift/IDC to come down to ennis as I'm not driving atm so i got the train down to Ennis, Ennis speedway has being there since 07ish one of the first tracks in the Irish drifting scene. their wasn't that many pro driver entries in this round but the drivers that took their spots in the pro class made up for it the level of driving across all classes were just unbelievable all i can say to the lads that drive in the IDC who are members on here WELL DONE.

I loved ennis, really well done to the lads in semi pro, and especially after finding out that "an auld engine worth 300 quid" (Stevie Harte) won the round!!

Ennis is one of the reasons why Irish drivers across the waters do so well, they know how to rub walls which differentiates them from the rest, and is why Irish drivers are known as some of the best in the world!

The big other bit of ground that isint being used, 1. Too bumpy and 2. It would slow cars down then and smaller horse cars wouldn't have power to pull themselves out of tight corners so bad idea!

Went down Sunday and it was pissing when I arrived but it dried up eventually and it was good enough overall. One thing I could'nt believe was the amount of scum that was there:undecided:

X2, There was a pair of pikeys beside us drinking bottles of wine and shouting abuse at the drivers on the top 16 parade, i defo think Idc events need some sort of Security to put these pricks out!:(

security would have to be placed if that's the way people are going to act to the drivers, scumbags. :undecided:

Well I had a blast anyway. The track is small compared to some of the other venues, but it makes up for itself by being tricky with tight transitioning and humps and dips etc...... As a driver I actually really enjoyed it. Happy with qualifying 17th.
