As above. I lost my lock but key and I need to get the lock nut off so I can change my wheels. It's an internal drive lock nut. Any ideas on how I can get it off without having to take my car anywhere? Thanks in advance

Only way that i think works is to bate a socket on, wont cost a penny as long as you have a good socket set.. Done it on heaps of stuff i bought for breaking as fuckers never give you the lock nut key

Being an internal key i'd be driving a hex in there. Should get it moving

Yeah the socket works fine for the normal locknuts but these internal 1s are a bastard to get off without a key tryed everything but never thought of a hex ill give it a go thanks.

Where you based? Surely someone near ya has one.

Also I had the same problem, broke my heart. Ring east coast alloys and they will send you one out in the post, have it in a day. Around €5, saves allot of hassle.

depending on the style of nut, hammering something into it wont work too well and will destroy the nut.

Im in Limerick. I'm not sure if a hex will work. Here is a pic of the lock nut. Any other ways I can get them off?

What pinny said, drill the centre piece out and bate a hex head or Alan key with a 1/2 inch drive in it and it should come out
