had a system 1 tomei ecu in the 180 for a while, made it more responsive, more poke, and got rid of the fuel cut and all that.

anyway, the ecu stop working, fuel pump would only turn on for half second, when it eventually started it was lumpy as sheep shit. opened the ecu up and seen one of the transistors corroded, like what you get on a battery terminal, and the same on another part of the board.

have the standard ecu in now and runs fine

so my question, the tomei chips are fine, its just the standard board they are soldered to is damaged. can i remove the chip board from the old ecu and solder it back in to the standard ecu like tomei did?

the soldering is no problem, just need to know would they be compatable/work with the standard ecu board

Right so, after a fuel cut nearly threw me through the windscreen when overtaking I decided to swap the chips into the standard ecu I had and see if it worked or not. It did work, and it's behaving its self now. Think the fuel pump transistor shat its self lol

All I can say about the job is bitches got it handy having to thread a needle. Trying to get those 40 little, used, pins back into the circuit board for soldering is some pain in the bollox
