lifestyler road car/the impractical track car

well the s15 was sold last night and went to a very very good home (stayed in ireland haha) so after annoying the owner of this car for a long time, he finally sold it to me :p

basically bought this to bring to tynagh and have some fun as ive bever been on a track and have been itching to give it a go, but i still wanted to have a cool road worthy car at the same time. it aint mint as it could do with a respray so i dont have to worry about keeping it clean.

wont be drifting with the 19s on the rear as a combination of massive 19" rear wheels,grippy tires (achilles),standard clutch and crappy driver make for it not drifting fairly easily, so gonna have to throw something smaller on the rear for the mean time when on track.

plans for the next month are

check over the car
hydro
harness
more drift wheels
book tynagh if everything is ok with it.

cheers dude! plan is do superdrift on the 16th of june, wanna have everything perfect on the car before it hits the track (i.e oils done, alligned etc)

got a tectom cmx-100 of doofer on here! cool little thing that reads water temp, speed, inj duty and air flow rate! ya see them in all the d1sl cars so i had to have it haha, plugs into the diagnostic port

yeah ive seen that before, look how clean it was haha!! all it needs is the dmax bumper to be repaired, the rear arches to be refilled and a coat of paint, everything else on the car is perfect, ill keep it rough for a little bit until i get some track time under my belt and then get it painted :D

installed the 9 fin rb25 fan i got off slithertooth last year (thanks again dude, owe ya a pint! :) )

-engine got mobil1 10w60 oil with a genuine nissan oil filter

it was fucking awesome dude!!!!

so finally took my track virginity! and i dunno why it took so long, yesterday was so much fucking fun, on the same level of fun you would have when you were a kid running around an adventure centre with ball pits and bouncy castles and shit haha.

first session went great, i was scared shitless before getting on track but that instantly changed. did a lap of the track first as advised by everyone just to get an idea of the corners and then i went for it! picked up how to initiate with the hydro quickly

second session the hydro broke :( so i had to use the standard handbrake, so i was learning how to tap the breaks and then pull the wand.

3rd session rear pads failed and went on fire so i had no more handbrake, so i just clutch kicked, brakes had faded badly so that was kinda scary haha

4th session turbo gaskets went so i lost boost so i had no power so i had to call it a day

still i had so much fun, cant wait for the next day, still buzzing from it!!!

so superdrift now requires everyone to have a fixed back bucket seat and harness, so i couldnt resist this chargespeed fixed back when it came up for sale !! BWreilly forgot to send the bottom seat cushion with it but he said he will send it out monday yay!

also bought a final konnexion front bumper that came off my old blue s14a! 30 min job to fix the crack. plan is to have the car mint and back on the road for november 1st . going to put that bumper on for the time being while i under take the massive job off trying to repair the dmax one

and polish, but thats not a big deal, should be like glass then! the overs are getting redone though due to them reacting (developed silicones or "fisheyes" for all you painter people, were prepped and wiped down but still happened :()

So i sold this to alan today! unfortunatly, living in dublin doing a jobbridge internship means i dont have the time or money to finish it. sad to sell it, as this is the first time in 7 years i havent owned an s-body. for now i have to step away from cars and focus on my career, but hopefully in the very near future ill be back messing around with one of these cars
