it will go up into all the gears no problem, but when its in 5th its the very same as if it was in neutral. i can start the car in 5th gear without clutching and it doesnt go anywhere . very same as if its in neutral. just wondering did anyone have this problem before?

Is it the same as if it was in neutral by any chance? :p

Probably a selector gone or something. Can you feel it engaging a gear or is there any resistance at all when selecting 5th.
Was it crunching or making any noises before it went?

Have you changed the oil recently? Pretty sure it's a common enough problem.

was perfect, changed the clutch and when i drove it realised the problem then. lik i said seems to engage the gear , car drives perfect and no noises coming from the box . just annoying not having 5th

how much you looking for a box? that would be the easiest thing to do but funds arent great after investing in a good clutch ha

did you put the selector in right if you had it out?
Check the oil if it's anyway grey change it, do the trackday, you won't need 5th its only an over drive gear, then change the box after can't go wrong for €100.
