I did'nt want to put up a build thread straight away because i hate seeing build threads that just die after awhile but im hopingto keep this one up to date, I'm planning on getting it ready for a driftfest event sometime next year so i'll have time to save up for the bits i'll need and get it ready, all advice/opinions are welcome as it's my first track car. These are the pics from the dd ad and some i took of the underneath.

Quick update,When i bought the car the seller said it had a 'missfire' on the engine,so yesterday we did a compression test on the engine and there was low compression on cylinder 4 and and barely any on cylinder 2, so we took off the head and found this

two of the rocker arms were after coming off the coil packs as well a few of the shims missing,so it looks like a new engine is on the cards
out with the old...

Thought i'd get rid of some of the bits of surface rust while the engine was out,so i got out the green goo and some anti rust primer

cheers lad, thats my buddy steves car its a spec r with a few mods
After getting the old engine out we took the box off and then hit a problem with the fly wheel bolts being seriously seized up so i ended up buying all new ones from nissan at 8 euro a pop, Then there was a lot of swearing getting the new engine lined up but now its sitting in the bay :D Then i decided to get new braided turbo lines while i was at it and collect another few bits for when we get it running over easter when i'm not up the walls with college work and normal work.

After a lot of hours reconnecting everything back up in the freezing cold we finally got the engine in and running

And a quick video of it running with the exhaust off
First start after installing the rebuilt engine - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ijfnaDgI67w&feature=youtu.be)
The main issue now is that none of the clocks seem to be working does anyone have any idea what could be a quick fix for this?
Good progress fella... Cheers lad
Progress has been a bit slow lately seeing as i changed my daily for a golf to a pulsar vzr but once my exams are over i should have this back on track with a new exhaust and getting it running right.
Have a cat back japspeed exhaust there might suit €60
wat u doing with old engine
Cheers lad

cheers :) if i could afford to keep it as a road car i would as its a good standard example but the amount of money needed to keep it as a daily driver is crazy so until i get a full time job il be sticking with getting her drift ready
Made a start on the anti rusting and under sealing while i had the weather on my side, Fortunately it all seems to be surface without anything too bad so far

cheers shes clean enough alright.i'd definitely recommend the vzr as a daily great pull off the vvl and its not the usual type R crapola that everyone buys
small update, I have the exhaust on and the undersealing finished but i'm still working on the problem with the revs not building,if anyone has an stock ecu for an english spec s14 id be interested in it
So i've tried three different MAF's and a different ECU in the silvia and there doesn't seem to be any difference the engine revs to about 5000 and wont go any higher,i was wondering would in be an earthing problem as i have a small black wire with a small black box on it left over from when i swapped engines

without having had a look through all of this...youve changed the fuel pump right?
In the process of putting a walbro into it now but I didn't think that would make a difference?
