altezza gearbox issue... i think?

ok so after a couple of minutes of "messing" i cant get into or out of 1st or 2nd gear, i can get 3rd etc but not these 2, and on any other occasion there is no issue its only after a couple minutes of abuse, would my gearbox be fucked? or is it a clutch? pressure plate ? etc
its a 99 altezza

does it go into 1st and second when engine turned off if so start car with it in first gear and foot on clutch and see if u can get second if so sounds like a clutch problem either the springs or pressure plate or something but if it dont go into 1st or second gear when turned off sounds to me like the gearbox
