This guy has plenty lads! As i said to pete last night, Famous Jh had a 4.44 in his 28 and she was a weapon! I have a 4.1 in my m3 and it also makes it quite awesome :)

There are also cwp kits on Ebay for your own diffs.
I cant remember what comes from what, but a 3.9 or a 4.1 would be nice.
I had a 4.4 in my 328 road car an was good for 4th skids :)
would a small case one suit a 3.0 m3 . complete noob to bmws so trying to source a good diff has a medium case 3.64 at the min

Would be fairly breakable i would think!
ye was sorta thinkn that thanks . texted about a 4.4 from that number chuckie does 400 not seem sort of steep for a 4.4 maybe im wrong?
Got mine off american ebay, out of a e30 325i auto for 180euro delivered.
Is a 188mm 4.10 CWP (medium case) same as your after pete.
Cheers lads. I think what im going to do first is to weld the one thats in it once the clutch is done and see what its like. then search for the right one. Dont want something that will be screaming when im on the motorway!

completely different casings on e30 and e36, size is the same but cases are no go, and 4.10 for a road 328 wich has a stock one of 2,93 would be a bit mad, something 3.64 would be the best shot for revs on motorway and plenty of low down go

I know dude i was talking about CWP not a full diff and that a 188mm CWP from a e30 will fit his medium case diff.
The ratio is down to personal prefference, to you its mad to me its the job.

For a car that's used on the road quite abit, anything above 3.64 will be serious good craic everytime you drive it... For about 2 miles :p
A 328 is very low to start with at 2.93. Even a 3.15 makes a big difference so I'd be looking out for a 3.46 cwp.
You'll get a 3.46 cwp from an M50 engined E34 520 so plenty about and cheap as chips.
If its a car that's going to be driven on the road just for abit of craic for a few hours a few nights a week and get down to every day there's a drift day in Mondello, a 3.64 or 3.73 would be good. Get the cwps of those out of E30 325s.
If just a track car, 4.1-4.45. Get those out of US auto 325s or old E28 520s and some very early 12v engined E34s.
I'd say a 3.46 would be perfect for you.

wel i'll be using my 318is diff with my 2.8 and from what i can see its a 3.45
Your right Dave 3.46 would be high enough on a 328 road car with a top speed 126mph, its near enough the same top speed as a m3 with a 4.10 and a top speed 124mph.
328 with a top speed of 106mph would be a bit thirsty alright on the motorway lol
Top speed X stock ratio / new ratio = new top speed
240km/h X 2.93 / 3.46 = 203 km/h / 126mph
240km/h X 2.93 / 4.10 = 171km/h / 106mph
260X3.15/4.10=199km/h / 124mph

Exactly although I wouldn't want to be doing much motorway spins with a 3.46 either. 328 even with a 3.15 was thirsty enough on Mike Barry's old 328. Was some car to go though even with a completely standard engine!

has anyone run a 4.44 in a 328 or is that just mental high
btw its a dedicated track car used mostly at tynagh
i have a 3.46 atm just want an opinion on using a 4.44 in a 328i on track really

328 diff is medium case so small case wouldn't work unless you swap shafts etc, as far as I know anyway...

3.36 is a shit ratio any way
318is is 3.45 afaik
thats what i have in my track car and i do some sneaky local milage on it and it seems ok
a small case diff in a 328i is not a hard job atall ,
you need to get the half shafts and back section of the prop with your small case lsd tho
it only amounts to two extra bolts to chane from medium to small case lsd as you have to undo all the half shaft to diff bolts anyway
