Street Zenki S14

Well I got this off Danny a few weeks ago after lasting about 4 weeks with a diesel, previously Jimmys 'Magpie 14'. I drove it for about 3 weeks and then parked it to get some bits for it and get it ready for NCT.

Basically just Going to have it as a nice street car, might take it on track once its finished.

Rear wheels are off to clean em up and get some new tyres.
diff is out as I have a 2way sorted to swap in, took the exhaust off too to get at the half shafts more easily.


First thing I did was get a classic Nardi wheel:

The outer tie rod ends were shot so i fitted some new ones.

I also got some internal drive wheels nuts.

Have a screamer pipe which should come in the post tomorrow.

Have a half cage sorted to pick up in the next few weeks, its a bolt in but I might just weld it in rather than drill through.


Plans for it now are:

- First put an NCT on it!
- Fit all the parts I have.
- Strip the rear seats & sound deadening, paint inside rear either white or pewter grey. Spray the cage some colour and either bolt it in or weld it.
- Decat DONE
- up the boost to 1 bar.
- Sandwich plate and Water temp sensor adapter DONE
- harness for turbo timer DONE
- New coilovers and slam it as the Teins are down to the last already and miles off the ground still!!
- Adj Traction Arms
- Adj Tension Rods
- Fit the 2 way. DONE
- Pressed jap plates
- Water temp gauge DONE
- Rear Strut brace
- Possibly an Alloy Rad, been looking at driftworks supercool rads, anyone running one of these?
- Pistons are seized on my calipers so may go for an r32 rear brake setup. SORTED MY OWN
- SAFC maybe.
- Vented bonnet if one pops up!
- Ganador mirrors

I'l be getting more bits as they pop up for sale so will update when work gets done!

its gonna be retardedly low though... will it not suck balls to drive it if you go as low as the photos? especially with the roads around here!!

I like this a lot! If you wanna run that low though you'll either have to get kinked rear camber arms or notch the chassis..

don't think I'd manage to go as low as the red one, would be nice though ha, just planning on getting it as low as I can without catching on every little bump, gotta get some smaller tires on it to give me a bit more clearance as they have 265's on at the mo, im thinking 225/40 would be fine on a 10j??

Went to swap my diff for a 2way from -Big Daves- s15 but turned out wasnt able to free the abs plug as its wanked on my diff so going back to a mates garage some evening this week to recase them, should be a lot handier too having a lift to use!

So plans for the next week or two are to get my 2way in, sort out my rear brakes, pick up my cage, borrow good tyres :p and flake it into the nct and see what else needs to be done to pass haha! after that I'l start to fit everything and get it on a dyno!

small update, got my brakes sorted figured out why my discs were baked!

went shopping today and picked up a japspeed Decat

And got my half cage

test fitted it today to see how the fit is, it sits a bit low and as im tall i have about 20mm clearance! going to weld in a plate to raise it a few mil and then bolt it in so should be a nice job when done.

removed some sound deadening also and going to give the cage and rear a lick of paint before fitting it


Anyone have about 4ft of cage wrap lying around?!

still haven't gotten around to the diffs yet so will hopefully get onto that this week. getting really sick of gathering parts and not fitting them so i really need to put it into the NCT and get fitting bits then!

small update time!

Got the 2way in at last and in the process we noticed that the catback was japspeed so that was nice to find when I thought it was a random one.

ordered a bride gear boot so that should arrive this week, will also do the door cards bride at some stage.


Well after getting a notion to sell up for something I had my eye on I decided to keep it when the car I was after sold so work will continue on this for now!

finally got the layers of brake dust off my wheel with some green gunk I cant remember the name of, about two hours later finally got it all off!

got myself a HKS harness for my turbo timer and fitted that at last

Got myself a sandwich plate and water temp adaptor to fit the gauges, my water temp gauge arrived in the post too but dont have a pic of that yet.

stripped out the rear to get it ready for the cage, gave it a lick of gloss black to tidy it up a bit, must get some sheets of aluminum for the boot and to cover the sides up

Painted the cage 'Kingfisher Blue' ha looks well I think
