ca18det are a chocolate bottom even when built,, i had one with wossner rods, uprated rods, acl bearings runing 320 brake and the bottom still fell outa it, go sr put acl bearings in and ull have reliability

you think sr in track car and 18det in daily? ive never had a prob with my ca18det i think its just some are good some are shite. was also thinkin that the 180 shell wid sr would be worth alot more than with a ca

I had ca as daily nd sr for track, did the job fine although the ca' are a bit heavier on juice, on account of them being shit....

no bellhousings are diff. im unsure wot to do. if ca's are that unreliable id prefer it in the track car so if it fuks up i still got my daily driver:rolleyes:

i had a ca putting out over 300bhp albeit on a fully forged, lightened and balance engine..never gave an ounce of bother.none of the ca's that i've had have..that said im going with an sr in the current car im doing at the moment coz its new to me but sure we'll see how that works out
