You would think Mondello would want to actively advertise proposed dates on here! They would have a quicker response on an advertised date here instead of waiting to see how many people call looking to see if there is a date available.
Or have they already tried that?
Also wondering when the next one is on.. I'll be attending every one of these from now on, wish they were on more often. Loving the car the way it is now and can't get out enough in it due to lack of tracks and practice days...

Best thing to do is actually do a few ''slow'' laps & watch what the lads (pros) that know what there doing, not the jack ass in his €200 ball of scrap willing to right your car off ;)

Yeah man thats the plan, not gonna wreck the car on the first corner, if by the end of the day I can hold it and link a corner or two I'll be happy out.
I never asked if there's many places left, they're doing a half day aswell for €70 so maybe there isn't too many going....all the better for me ;)

i don't think they do tbh just whenever they have a free day they throw on a drift day to fill it
i think il have to give this one a miss. the car needs tyres and new wheel studs and i have to tax and doe the jeep so unless i can get a money tree to grow it'll be out of the question

Well i tested myself and the car as it was my first time i need more power and stronger clutch and the turbo as i blew up the old one heheh
If anybody knows when is next one mondello practice just tell uss we are hungry for sliding
Awesome morning on Saturday, suspension lock feels amazing again after new parts and mods fitted, brand new Dunlops down to the wire in less than an hour :eek:.... I heart drifting in the dry!!! And my trusty little rotary just loves petrol :shocked::cry::tongue:

Alot of them are now lad!! Hence only a half day on saturday because numbers are down they wanted to try a half day but also they had use for the evening for something else
Its actually so much more fun when theres less numbers..
i got more track time there last saturday morning than ive ever got on a full day.. i was only stoppin to literally cool the car and change tyres..
the poor car was in a very sorry state when i got it home...lol

Yeah was up there today. My wipers weren't working and then I blew the gearbox @ 11.30. Typical, was just starting to get the entry and line working right for me and then.....pop!
Ah yea was wondering alright why I didnt see you out later in the day.. Pity you missed it when the track dried up it was some balls trying to get around there in the wet!
A good driver can get around in any conditions.....

The wet was ok. Only problem was when the track was dry, on the exit of the long corner after the hole in the hedge, at the point where you transition, there was a river of water running across the track.
When your going flat out in the dry it will send you straight in to the tyre bale
Yea that river causght me a few times and sent me for them well placed tyre bales:mad: Luckly I managed to drive through the grass for all my fuckups:cool:

I got some rubber marks on my bumper and light and then stopped drifting it after that, was too close for comfort haha. You in the blue 14a yeah?
Yea was mainly facing backwards in the wet but came good once the monsoon stopped:cool:

mondello is always quiet for drift days during the summer coz of all the other events they have on. they normally put on a drift day when they have a free day with nothing else on. it was the same last year

Its because they put the tyre bales on the track!!!!!!! and wet the corners!!! There is plenty of other practise days providing better conditions for drifting at more than reasonable prices so why would people go there anymore?! Its their own fault as drifters have been going on about this since they started doing it but they haven't listened or taken anything on board or even tried to come to a compromise.
No joke, the last day I clipped the bumper and thought to myself that I couldn't have been running that wide so I drove around the track slowly on the next lap for a look at the tyre bales and the one I clipped was not only on the rumble strips but a foot over it on the tarmac?! Your wheels should be able to run on the rumble strips!
I could be wrong now but this is my view anyway!!!!

Ye last day I was out they had them jock tight to the track I was on the left hander behind the pits ran it out wide but the back right never left the track didn't go near the curb at all and bang I sent the tyre bail flying bumper off and the 1/4 panel got a good push was freaked when I coped what had actually happened them tyre bails need to go the grass is suppose to be a run off area!!!

saturday the forth i had it out with them today about tyre bales etc i also think that there needs to be groups as we said before ama , pro and caged and non caged cars im no way a pro by stretch of imagination but last day i was there a retard pulled out underneath me in a merc worth about 100 quid and clipped me sending me into tyres causing ALOT of damage there too many brain dead people allowed out with lads that have 10 -20 grand cars , as i said im only learning too but why spend 140 to spend most the time driving behind a 2l omega doing a 30 mph manji on the straight im sure you have all experienced this

What was their response to the Tyre bales situation???
I'm only a learner too but there are def a lot of brain dead people out there, even if it was registered PD & drift fest competitors in one group and then the rest in the other.
It sounds like Mondello aren't too bothered about facilitating the drift days and just throw them on whenever they have an empty day just to bring in a few €€€€€€. The placement of the tyre bales and watering o sections show that they eiter don't car or don't understand drifting, as the watering seems to be the reason fellas spin off and so they put out the tyre to try and save the grass that fellas damage when they spin on the water.

thats it exactly, but they understand drifting the tyre bales just stop them having to get recovery the whole time as the cars smack off them rather than chop up grass or get stuck in gravel watering the track is because of noise complaints biggest issue with that is that they only wet corners so its lethal coming from dry track onto wet corners
All the above points about the wetting of the track and the tyre bales were brought up in a briefing before and they said if you dont like it you can leave. thats how much mondello care about drifting

yep and thats why you never see big crowds at them anymore ill be doing the next one as i need to test my new car before tullyroan but will probably be m last
Wetting the track is essential and it's Ireland so it's nearly always wet anyway. :) The hay bales are a bit head wrecking alright. As is the diffing competition lads have after they spin in front of you. Stay where the fuck you are until the following cars have passed, and even then drive off normally, don;t try drift off.

Would agree with kyle, I'v no intention of being competitive so would have no problem being split into groups, what way do they run the grip days, is it still grouped A,B,C . Don't see a problem with doing that

that was done before they want everyone to line up out on track and go in pairs. it caused a huge row in briefing and everyone had to threaten to go get there money back before they would change the layout back. its a good idea apart from the fact that they wont let ya do laps in reverse you'd have to que up and that means less track time.
As far as i know its 26/08 next practise day from 10-13 half day my new turbo is fited need just the oil and to roll arches and i will not miss it this time !!!!

I think they should run reverse for the 1st half and normal for the second would be change a scenery like keep things interesting
Very much doubt they will, tracks are built to run in one direction..
Rumble strips, pit entry, marshalls posts etc its not just as handy as sending lads out the opposite direction.. Would be nice but not gonna happen running a full track setup

I had the 180 out not last last day but the 1 before it was my first time aswel track was bone dry an they never wet it once, top of 3rd will tighten your arse when it's bone dry an Ye never driven the track before but I had a great day by the head of the day I was throwing the car around, used 60 quid of juice in the car on 3 hours and plenty of rubber haha it's a great track and not that hard to link the first to last corners but the wall on the straight is very unforgiving haha I'd recommend anybody who has drifted the track to give it a go !

When I was up there you could pretty much be on track for the three hours bar when they red flag if you wanted! As far as I know it's nearly always open pit so you come and go as you want! Serious Craic!
they usually dont wet it if theres a grip session afterwards.
Think ill go for this fuck it why not all i have to do is get a van load of tyres from camskill ill be sorted !!

Mondello seems to not give a damn about geting some money and let us driftin if u look on the calendar they have a lot of not booked weekends I rang them and they said they try to do drift day before christmas ???? wtf??? look at mondello.ie they could do at least tree drift days this is sad!!!!!

I think it's about 2.2kilometers long and quiet a bit of it would be linkable, there is only 2 problems with using it for drifting, 1. When somebody spins off it would take ages to get all the cars into the pits for recovery!! 2. The amount of tyres you would need would be unreal!
But as far as I know they don't do it because of the amount of Marshall's they would need and how long it would take for wetting the track and recovery and the amount tyre bales the would need!

Sounds like a bit off a once off to be honest, I was there at a scooby day with a friend and a bit of drizzle made it interesting anyway it was short lived he got warned about power sliding told to keep it straight or he is off!
Your a lucky lad I'd love a weekend down there the whole track, a container of tyres and a small tanker of juice and go mad haha

Did dtd gripper day there as well turned my dc2 white wheels yellow and tyres dissapeared within 3 sessions less, easily 3-4yr ago
In fairness it gets mentioned at nearly every breifing about the retard loosing his front bumper and gettin out of the car in mid session to walk across the track to get it, Reputation fail for drifting. (face plant thing)
