ledwith racing has now developed the 20v for 225bhp at 8500 & 160 lbs torque from 1598cc engine.
Engine in car made 192 hp at wheels and 131 ftlbs through rear wheels which conservetively would loose 30 bhp and torque through transmition losses

From graph it can be seen that the power has not topped out at 191. If we reved harder it would have made more, Mapp has linear regression to 9000rpm but is limited to 8600 rpm for safety.

No. the engine was mapped by Gerry Hodgins. I just build them. Yes dates are very mixed up but im sure it was the last things on the mans mind. The map is the important thing. I did not even cop the april 1st thing at all. Well spotted
Free rebuild for me on that one?

i know you said it was for safety....
but why stop at that rpm when you have all that bottom and top end bling to help it rev safer and higher
at least see where it tails off on the dyno, and then set your limiter at the desired level?
Sure Ill photoshop you a graph:)
Sure ya may aswell..... ye did it for this one too :p

Yes I know what you mean.
I would personnelly of like to see where it tails off, and maybe if I was there beside him I could have asked to rev to nine, but most dyno lads dont like to rev too high when the car is making plenty of power at 8.5k. For rallying you will rearly need to rev to 9 anyway. Most of the work is done between 5 - 8.5.
I would like to see for pig iron thou.
