View Full Version : annoying 180sx clutch problem

well lads my 180 has a stupid problem with clutch, i have checked the master cylinder an slave cylinder both perfect,

the problem is its hard to select gears, if the car is hot sitting on the spot, with the clutch fully pressed, i try select 1st, i can feel it trying to engage gear, nearly knocking thru the prop, liek the clutch isnt disengaing fully, theres great bite in it no slip, am i right in thinking the pressure plate is gone weak? car was sitting for nearly a year cheers lads,

yeah the pressure plate is getting weak, dont usually last long once this starts happening, a few weeks if your easy on it,

there was a new exeedy clutch put into it before it was parked up, i might drop box an see nick of friction plate, an see if i can get hold of a decent pressure plate

make sure that clutch dampener is out they can cause it if not bled right

yea, have it out an bleed up right, starting to think its the baulk rings in the box, as its hard take gear even with engine off..

ok maybe thats the prob then i used to turn mine off to select reverse
i have an s15 spec s box with 32k on it same as turbo box, been sitting on a shelf here for years would sell it cheap

try ajusting the clutch pedal first alan,the clutch cable mite need a small ajustment,this is just behind the pedal,this happened to mine,it was hard to get 1st or revrse and after sum small ajustment it was perfect,worth ago before you open it up.
