View Full Version : s15 spec s to spec r road car
Well lads said id put this up here been fairly depressed since I sold my last silvia http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/249731_208966572475816_100000874258750_568334_5459 583_n.jpg
So I said Id try and get an s15 as Ive never had one so looked at a few spec R's but they were all seriously rough really was amazed at how rough they were! So mechanic buddy suggested a spec s conversion so I got some info off people on here mostly and decided it was my best bet, so I bought one off here
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/s15017.jpg
It was completely standard spec s apart from the 18" rotas which suit the colour quite nicely I reckon. So then the hunt for the conversion bits began and after looking and looking I was lucky enough a local lad who I had contacted about an engine said I could take hes silvia so collected it that night was great piece of mind being able to drive the car home instead of picking an engine off the ground
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-23135403.jpg
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-23135424.jpg
This had most of the bits I needed including front mount cusco coilovers apex exhaust strut brace wiring loom ecu and all those bits prop shaft etc also had bigger sump the brakes i needed with bigger discs too and manifold
so then the work began
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-17172709.jpg
Ive skipped a few steps but thats the sr20det in the 15
cusco coilovers in
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-28181208.jpg
sits a bit better now
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-29173610.jpg
better stopping from white 14 aswell
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-28181216.jpg
Now I started buying bits for it had a standard elbow and downpipe so bought them off japspeed
the downpipe splits into two and back to one to prvent the problem of the big 3inch pipe being too low and hitting everything
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-23170723.jpg
Also picked up a vertex kit off Drive n Style cheapest I could find
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-21101538.jpg
Got some LED rear lights from Taiwan
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-22171949.jpg
Look well on the car
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-30183932.jpg
One headlight inside was after getting damp and damaged so i split them open and Im still debating what to do go matt black, carbon dip or same colour as car
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-29145528.jpg
Picked up some black recaros out of a dc2 love these seats was looking for brides but got sick of looking and how expensive they are was off putting
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/Full-6.jpg
some clear side repeaters I hate amber on any car also have hid's dips and fulls and led everything from dash clocks to reverse lights there is nothing in the car but Leds and hids ha ha
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-12-23161144.jpg
Will get more pics up when i get car back from bodyshop the fibreglass kits arent the best theres a lot of work going into it pity couldnt be a plastic kit like my last car definately worth the extra money
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2011-04-23174313.jpg
Decided the cusco coilovers were just too hard for the road I went and bought these brand new in the box off a lad on here http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2012-01-23114529.jpg
Also have a nardi torino and 4 swoosh gauges to mount in the vents and one on pillar pod there defi style look good quality anyway and you can calibrate them Im a calibration tech so will take one in to work when i get a chance see how accurate they are

can also buy the bolster and bits online if ya can pick up damaged ones

Its a very nice road car with the coilovers must drop it more but its very comfortable yet stiff. The sensors came with it and stands and sun visors all in box!

Finally got recaros in heres a shot of one got a super low bride rail and had to modify the hell out of it to get it to fit!!
http://i804.photobucket.com/albums/yy323/diffindan/2012-02-23173010.jpg
Had to get the buddy to make a passenger rail from scratch unbelievable amount of time and effort went into this literally took a few days and the seat in and out of car a zillion times! but finished product looks well

Was lookin for mats one night and came across a picture in nickys car I think of supermade mats so thought they looked well and went hunting didnt find much so I wanted them even more!!! So after seeing the prices of them new I was shocked and decided I'd make my own set ordered mats from uk and went about dying them seriously time consuming but look well funky!! Some runs but I'm happy with the overall result as i saved a fortune!
