just picked up trixtas mx5 last week with the plans of reshelling it. hope to build the car as much as i can myself will need some help along the way but want it to be a built not bought project. as far as engine wise i think hes got about the best you can out of it safely and its plenty for me.ima try source a 2way. body wise im in 2 minds either really low flared arches and clean paint. kinda a usdm route or just go down the track car look. this is the one im leaning more towards. Canards rear diffuser bolt on arches etc. Gone do the paint myself so that should be fun. heres some pics of how it all lies

spoiler could possibly be going but wont know for a month or 2. but i was thinkng or making a mould of it and fixing the lip and making a mould of that. not alot of places do nice mx5,s parts and there damn expensive with a serious following in the uk i dont it would be a bad idea.

Will Creighton did it. I got the shims made up. Cant remember how thick they were, but could maybe check back through pms as I got them made up by a guy off here.

Yeh its effectively the exact same driving wise. Personally I think they're fine for the road also.

so more work got done and seems nct ready hopefully. fitted new brakes then found out i had to fit the new wheels because standard ones wouldnt fit over calipers but then the wheels were poking way too much so had to fit my arches too. so fitted arches then the wheels started to rub off standard arch haha it was all one problem to another but heres some fone pics of how it went

Finally some more progress on this build it passed the nct 2 weeks ago so was fairly happy with that but with being in college all week i had to wait til the weekend to rip the engine out and get this build going.

There tight enough to work on with some fiddley bolts here and there but two mates gave me a hand and we had it out in now time.

coming out

ok i havent updated this in a while have almost everything done but ill only post up pics of what i have on my fone!

firstly engine 95% in jus need a small bit more tidying and wiring

http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j437/cubeking/IMG_01531.jpg

then onto the suspension parts the teins were fairly bad condition paint wise so i went a sourched a close enough green and gave em a shot!

before
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j437/cubeking/IMG_01681.jpg

after
http://i1085.photobucket.com/albums/j437/cubeking/IMG_01761.jpg

then onto the extra lock hubs, like the coilovers they werent the best condition so i decided id go with the drift works orange , love the contrast of the bright orange.
