just seen that this even my self  sad to see all these cars being shipped across the water
lot of lads sellin up or breaking them for the one way ticket outa here.or some of the lucky ones taking the silvia's off the road and get'n a trackday in here and there.
Tis a good read and sad too see , but if a man had the money he would make a fortune exporting jap irish cars to the likes of Germany or France etc.
ya sad to see cars goin but at least they wont be just sitting up around the place like alot of the cars here are now
That's so emotional.....After reading that I found myself just sitting and gazing at the modified section off an auto trader I have from 06 and i just cried and cried and cried,I couldn't not be consoled!
a thread should be started to keep track of all the cars that have been exported
a pic breif spec and where it went

No matter how many of them leave a lot will always remain, The irish are hoarders. In little sheds and garages all around the country there is some very rare machinery jap or not....
The cars will always be there but if they will see the light of day or not is another thing.

Brilliant write up. So true!!!!!!!
great write up,its very true but there are also hardcore guys out there who will not sell up.and i admire them its what we need to keep the interest there.i myself am in australia at the min and i plan when i get enough money to come home and buy a gtr r32.:) i sold my r32 gtst to get here.so i say keep the chins up the jap scene in ireland will never die.:)
So true and sad, but i'd rather see nice cars go abroad instead of being broke for spares!! What pushed me to by my 180 is the fact that the lads told me they were going braking it if i didn't buy it !!
Great wee post, makes me happy that i had a hand in that car being built in its time over here ( I worked on it while dave had it)
Out of interest, where are the cars advertised that these french and germans are seeing them?

donedeal , on here (they sign up but dont post ) dw,sxoc etc
ireland is becoming more popular though as the cars are not rot boxes like cars from england ( even jap imports are getting destroyed with rust from the salty roads) and they are A LOT cheaper than england.
a stage 1 200sx s14a in ok condition are going for around 4k sterling over in england!

this is very true, not so lng ago mate wnt to the back arse of nowhere to see a r33, landed to a cottage you wouldnt expect to see aneything other than a wee massy at, and hid in the peat shed out the back was a mint 33 never put on the road from import. heres to hoping we see them out and about on irish roads again soon.
sad to see the cars leaving the country after lads spending a fortune on them importing them in the first place.
Sad to see this.
We all knew it was going on, but just where will it end up
Eventually jap cars will be rare in ireland and prices should rise again.
When He talks about N/A fc rx7's going for 10k it reminds me of the way things were here back in the day.

it's very very depressing but someone could see it as a good opportunity to make some money exporting cars?
