i"ve 235 40 18 on my fronts and they work a treat with just a little bit of stretch on 9:5 rims...
so if your running 17 i would go for 225 45 would have the same affect just a nice little stretch and plenty of tyre on the road most importantly
dont forget to add on an extra 10mm for the r888s, ie a 225 r888 is closer to width of a 235 standard tyre :)
Why are you stretching a r888?the sidewalls on them are fairly solid so no need to stretch them surely going for a bigger size would be better more contact patch and as mentioned by will_c r888s are wider than your standard tyre
Get onto Wez at WKD.. They've a great range of tires there and I'm sure he'll be more than happy to point you on right direction....
as bart said.he has maxxis sport tyres in 225.45.17 be perfect for ya.they can be got in sort or med compound tyre and at a hard to beat price.meant to be way better than 888's i belive
