ok bit of an update, got the wing sprayed. boss man sprayed it one evening cos he was goin away for a week so i wouldn't get a chance to spray it myself. needs to be done again to blend it into the door but it'll do for now. didn't bother doin the bumper as we said we'd do the lot at the same time, i'm preppin the front bumper now myself at home for the week.

well the cars finished. i didn't spray it myself as the shop owner was in a rush to get it out cos he was busy and i didn't wanna chance messin it up after all the prep work i did!

which currently needs some welding so i'm gonna strip the car and buy a welder. but in the mean time i'm lookin for a cheap booter or just a booter shell to transfer the parts onto while i work on it.

i've completely changed my views and i much rather the look of the jap cars now. i bought my car in 06 when i was like 18 or 19.

nice e30 man, if its an IS invest in a sump guard took me 3 sumps before i bought one, well worth the money. its 200 for one delivered from here

S50s dont weigh much more than a 325 lump only 10-15kg i think.

if them BBS are RS003s id be jumping on them, ive never seen a set for that cheap in 7" let alone in decent widths. if theyre redrilled i wouldnt be too keen on them but theyre still cheap at that.

What are the wheels on the cream golf? Some type of Rota? had a set of xxr's on my old white 318is (just like in the pic) the looked very nice. maybe the xxr's in satin black?

E30 325i engine is about 120kg for bare engine. E36 M3 engine is 150 plus heavier gearbox & clutch, bigger rad, oil-cooler and other bits and pieces.

Complete S50b32 engine and box set is about 250kg, I'm not too sure what the M20 is but all I know is I can kinda lift an M20 engine and box and move it around the floor reasonably easily but even with the crane, it took a fair bit of effort to unload an M3 Evo engine and box and put it into my workshop last week so there is definitely a fair different.



Still... with good suspension and brakes, it makes an E30 road car amazing! :cool:

E36 328 engine in an E30 is about the same weight as an E30 318iS though which is nice!!!

well here's a little update, tried mocking up my recaro profi seat. turns out the seat is very in keeping with the car as it's dated February '92! made up a template out of cardboard, then out of ply then sat it into the car to see what it fitted like. with this set up i'll be able to use my original runners. just gonna bring the template to my local steel man to make somethin up for me. then just need to get the suspension fitted, 60/40mm springs and new inner tie rods, gonna get some 75/50 springs also cos there's a sale on at fk so they're only 60 yoyos. i need new top mounts and i'll get e92 top hats for the extra drop. anyway here's some pics:

next on the list is wheels and i'm gonna fit a x5 gear lever. shorter throw than the z3 but has a longer lever so the gear knob is closer to the steering wheel.

also maybe a shorter ration lsd, not to be bold and slide the car but just to lower my top speed and be safer.

Ok small update, got all my suspension bit sorted now, new topmounts, e90 spring caps (extra 10mm drop), inner tie rods, 75/50mm springs and new shocks.

then some good and bad news today, bought a set of steel wheels off a lad for banding, asked him 1,000,000 were they 100% 16" before i sorted a courier and stuff to buy them, he said yes. received them today, stamped on the front, 5.5j x15!!!! ripping!

on a lighter note, i got my x5 gear lever, shorter shift between gears but a longer lever so closer to the steering wheel.

well the e36 back box was a complete no go.

so i ordered a dynomax super turbo muffler from america:

quite free flowing from the stats and nice and quiet. so i mated that to the universal back box i had on previously cos i really liked the twin 3" tailpipes.


now it just sounds like a standard car but had the nice tailpipes.
but i kicked the tailpipes out further and at more of an angle, more like the original 325i exhaust.
