Thanks yea she is good to once this is done, now getting time to go to a day soon is the issue! Had hoped to do a drift jam in august but lack of cage ATM stopped that. It will be out though.
Simons dad fixed it! When I rang Simon he didn't even know lol!
Yea I'm also assuming by the reg on the drift car that he used to be fast cave on some of the old sites like jon44w if so I've heard good things about him for a long time.

Cool, he fixed my one two, I asked Robbie in TDP if there was a way of testing mine before map time and he said that repaired ones will just die again, get a new one. But tbh, I cant see that being logical as the part that was replaced is obviously a new part!

Yea that makes no sense at all! From what I understand is done. Part breaks for a reason. Part is taken out and binned. New identical part is sourced. New identical part is installed. System works as before. Sytem only breaks if incorrectly used/ damaged as before. If a new one is bought it too will break if under the same conditions as the first broke....

If the mother board was replaced then the only old parts left are the cases and the wiring. And wires are either split or not.
That just sounds like a sales answer. Essentially an ECU is a like a laptop only with different out puts and uses. You replace the mother board in a laptop and it's not knackered??

if a partis broken on any circuit board regardless of it being an ecu or anything for that matter if the problem can be sorced taken out propperly and replayed properly there should be no problem with them... 90% of these FCs break due to power serge...
and as pete said my dad has fixed some amount and had none brought back to him

Well after a typical hitch its finally getting sorted! A near heart attack moment when Richard called to say his laptop wouldnt connect with the PFC but would connect to several others in his year, it turned out it was his software at fault. He brought the car to EEC i think to double check and it worked fine. Two weeks later and the software arrived and she was mapped today. But after setting it all up he noticed a split boost pipe so it will need tweeking tomorrow! And apart from an iffy ICV its all good :D
Ill sort the ICV out when I get her back. A picture my dad took ages ago but only showed me yesterday! Cant wait to collect it :D

Everyone in the world not on this site hates them! I love the pink (no pun!) though but as much as I want to keep them if I want to continue to modify the car the way i intend they will be of no use and I need the cash to replace them! (and fix shit :D )

Thanks! It will definately, its been a bit of a lifestlyer car and every penny ive had for it has really gone into fixing it but hopefully I can start using it properly going forward.

The clutch in mine feels like an opel Astra clutch in comparasin!
Its mad, I did all the oils in it about 600km's ago. And that was in February I think :eek: So shes pretty much ready to roll!
I hope you keep yours!

Feck all I think, but that was with a split boost pipe so I'm hoping for over the 420 mark......
NOT!! :D if it's over 280 and running safe I'm happy. It still has the cat, standard ic and standard 10psi boost.... I should know later, hopefully when I'm off this flight I'll have some news :)

Um thanks lol. I like the X90 Mark II but of all the models 81/90/100 the 81 is my favorite so I was happy to spend a JZX100 budget on a mint 81. Ironically so mint it never drives :D
So its back! And Im well chuffed. Power wise he never got an exact figure, but its low. Probably 250'ish. He asked when I dropped it what boost i wanted it so i said leave it standard, but he reckoned it could do waaaaaaay more boost but didnt go any more because i said not to which was cool with me. But fuck it im in for the long haul so im happy to just have it back so I can enjoy it. Richard is sure if I get off me hole and fit the IC, a Decat and let him loose with the boost ill see the best part of 100hp so that will be the next stage...
For the first time since having it it finally feels good to drive, ive even stopped bringing the toolbox/axle stands/spares in the boot :D Needs an idle control valve so it idles shitty when cold. Doesn't matter anyway, sure who doesnt like a noisy 1J at 6am lol
Looks like the rotas are going this week, they are only wheels but im so undecided about selling them as i really like them now :( All the other bits arrived from Carpo last week and I cant wait to get cracking on fitting them soon!

one of the coolest cars around imo, the wheels do really set it off, wind deflectord are a nice touch alrite!

I actually have always hated them, always liked a nice Apexi/HKS style angled exhaust nice and shiney but im begining to like the boso pipes more now.... And with a standard rear bumper.... hmmmmmmm :)

Yea chuffed man. I took those pictures and I was pissed off I did. The arches are rough, they need tidying before spraying id assume, and cutting back a little. I need to fit the standard bumper and the arches and try again. Here is my inspiration though, what do you think?

My idea was the arches to be black, bumper body colour obviously. I might get the bumper painted and see before doing arch work
The wheels are 12J et0 from what I know. The arches wont see the car until i have something similar to put on. I was going to blow any dosh I had for the car on some 12J -10 today but there is no point cos I cant put them on the way it is now! Im beginning to think of putting the looks bit on hold and do some mechanical work...

Id say keep the kit even if you go standard. If your getting the car sprayed then it will cost probably next to nothing to give the kit a blow over. At least if you want to go back to a kit its there. You'll not get another BN kit thats fo sho!!

The difference though between mine and yours is the Chaser is such an animal you could pull off a BBGW on it. So the standard bumper would look much better IMO. Even run a diffuser on the back if you wanted!

Ye know what. This has been wrecking my head all week as to what to do but fuck it. Car is staying as is.
Pink Rotas are being picked up tomorrow I think, otherwise im not touching the outside. Im going to sort out new rears (cheap and no big difference) and two skid wheels today. Job done.
I have loads of bits to fit onto the car so until they are all fitted, and the cage done and I see 350hp from the car im not gonna do any arch/dish work. Its all about priorities!
I love this car just as it is, my favourite car on the site an I think them rear arches are a bit marmite .. I think they a bit extreme for the overall look of the car ya no man.

Definately needs a slight pull and I think it will finish it off.
I might put the bolt on overfenders up for sale. I paid near €300 for them. I'd rather put that into a decent clutch or some adjustable arms ATM. I'm gonna try the standard bumper though.
For now I'm gonna get a roof spoiler and the outside is done. Fuck it otherwise I'll be saving to make it look cool and I'll be 92 years old and never have taken it out to do what I bought it to do!
And if I do go for arches then they were what I wanted for the front anyway...

Dozzler not sure. On Jap fuel I think 280hp. Mine is less than that now with standard cat, ic in.
Good ECU, decat, ic, filter and a boost up you should see up to 350hp when mapped. Enjoy it!

Yea I got a cage ages ago, just decided to fit it last week! Just needs bolting down now then sort cutting the carpet to fit. Same time I got the Spiriant style arches and the standard rear bumper!

Ok so this is possibly comming off the road after Christmas. Tax is up then so i'll give it a break to do some work. I have 3 directions I want to go on it mechanically, but funds and Chuck breaking his Chaser or not will decide which :D
It got its first wash since Punchestown in June lol so I thought i'd celebrate with a picture :D Im not changing the fronts, feck it, but they will be going black and I need to space them out a little to match the rear.

I had a few ideas but no! If I do then i'll never have a decent clutch and all it will be good for is putting stickers on :D

I was thinking a splitter/canard thing on the front and a roof spoiler would make it look better but i'm not feeling it at all
If I dont use it I'll it for skidding, save wrecking the other one (even more!)
skirts are too lairy to pull it off, only works with subtle skirts etc in my opinion!

So in 2003 after the Leinster Trophy I gave up. A combination of no money and a hatred of the sport (for political reasons) meant I happily walked away. So Portlaoise nearly two weeks ago was my first time to do anything Motorsport related since.
So I checked the car over the week leading up to it, cleaned it too and I was ready to go! :o

Sitting waiting to go for my first run on Saturday I was a bit uncertain. I had never really clutch kicked the car, or any car, never used the handbrake for other than its intended purpose and generally never done any hooning about or drifting of any sort other than skidding about on the snow a while back.
I also made a conscious decision before I went out which might explain some of my driving (not excuses! :D ). No wild entries into the first corner; if it was to go wrong id have been in trouble and being my first time I didnt need to wreck the car. So my lap started after that. Then it finished before the last corner. After seeing Bert lose a wheel the last day on the gullies I wasnt risking it. The few times I could slot in the small gap between the gullies on Saturday evening I went for it but otherwise my lap finished at the entry to the hairpin. After all I did intend to drive home in it on Sunday evening lol
But it was awesome!! I spent the first half of Saturday messing about generally doing more understeering then anything else I got a 90 minute break, went and did some watching and thinking and went back out and went much better. By 5.30 Saturday (when everyone else was in the pub!) I was linking the track between the two points above which was deadly, so I was well pleased with that. The handbrake was useless but the clutch held up perfect to a decent raping, and the lack of power steering was only an issue at the slow turn at the end of the pit lane then.

I would be suprised if it could be repaired, i'd imagine it could be fixed (bonded or something) and painted but they are actually tinted perspex, like a visor, so painted it wouldnt look the same.

Its been ages!
The car has been totally neglected this summer, really since Portlaoise in April. A new house and a baby have taken over. I eventually fitted the Titan Autoworks special edition roof spoiler, spaced the front wheels and sprayed the R33 wheels matt black. Oh and removed pretty much all the stickers and yellow cable ties. Looks much better now IMHO

Think you should put Grids on the front too :)
I had 2 rules when I bought this with regards wheels. Fronts and rears would never match, and i'd only run staggered sizes on the road. I'm not a fan of 18's on the front, unless there are 19's on the rear. And I love the R33 wheels, I even got another pair for skids :)
