View Full Version : private drifting date 20\11\11 eglington
well guys spent yesterday @ eglington setting up 2 drift tracks
for the upcoming drift day. This day will be much the same as @
castlefin a relaxed day for anyone with a rwd car to get into
drifting or they guys with drift cars to get some seat time.
track 1: is fairly straight forward with 2 straights long enough for a nice transition and a long corner at either end 2nd gear for novice drivers but 3rd for more experienced drifters
track 2:figure of 8,this is similar to the one used at high octance but made bigger with more run off area. each car on this will get about 10 laps at
a time to get as much practice as possible had my own car out on this yesterday and loved it loads of room for mistakes .both tracks can be altered during the day if drivers feel the need
the only vehicles permitted on site will be the cars drifting
or towing a drift car eg van trailer
there will be strictly no entry to spectators
drivers and crew only allowed in
if you want in be with a drift car
usual charge applies 50 quid per entry 10 per additional person
drifting will start(first on track) @ 10 am will run till bout 6pm
no waiting about for boys running late this time ,cause that loses everyone else track time
number are limited so be sure ta be booked in
i only get time to log on here once every couple of days or so,

Fuck me the drivers side track rod end is welded to the tie rod ,
have it out of the rack and been handing off bars the last 2hrs trying to loosing the bitch :mad:
pass side came out a treat with bit of heat
In getting tea ere , back out then to it a try a couple of pass`s on the track rod end with the welder see if it does the trick for me
Lol never seen anything handy on them yet

LOL tried that snaped it in two ,
Found another track rod end with a bit of another tie rod sticking out of it on that other one and welded that piece where i snapped the other and tis sorted now thank fuck
Put washers in too when had the tie rods off

Then after only 50yards turn right u will see a petrol station on the right
Take the left jus after petrol station once your on this road jus take the
2nd road on the right (1st road is the donnebrewer road ) lower airfield road .then jus drive to the end of this road ya can't miss it

For all the help. Getin things sorted for today have loads of vids ta put up
Track was savage sore on tyres but hopefully everyone enjoyed the run out
Good days craic. Hope everyone enjoyed it. As much track time as you want and both courses were a blast. My 14 had a couple of problems and thanks to mickels mate who sorted me out with an alternator belt i managed to get her back home!
I was wearing the blue dc hoodie, its Nice to put a few faces to the names!!

big thanks to con and the lads for organising the day.
lots of dead soldiers and a few battle scars but apart from
that all the lads had a ball,the small track was a great laugh.

Thanks to all for the positive comments yesterday was a good test of what
Works and what doesn't track was changed about during the day and think the
Next time it's on ( if theres enough people interested ) will stick with roughly
The same layout as we had in the evening with a few minor adjustments
Above all on the day the standard of driving was unreal and a pleasure to run
