View Full Version : Prodrift Rd 4 Event Information
Prodrift 2011 – Round 4 – Mondello Park.
Prodrift will make its first of 2 stops to Mondello Park on July 16th and 17th for Round 4 of the 2011 Irish series.
Featuring a clockwise course with a 100mph clutch kick entry. Drivers will be pushed to their limits as they battle it out for valuable championship points.

Should be a big improvement as i always thought the 'dello rounds were the least entertaining of the rounds because of just bein able to use 2 corners..
Reversed with a clutch-kick entry should make for very entertaining stuff! Good work..

is it just straight into honda or will there be a kind of chicane leading in like in the practise days?
I'd say there will be some sort of chicane going into honda and maybe a clip aswel otherwise there'll be nothing to aim at ( crash into )
personalily speaking haven done grip driving in mondello before i would find it very hard to see any car starting on the main straight and being capable of reaching 100 miles on hr unless its pushing seruios seruios power and grip levels
out of interest anyone know wat kind of speeds the tdp skyline used to be doing on the straights before breaking

Thats what happens when you do grip track days in a mark 2 fiesta :p I dont know lad, id say anyone with 300+ bhp would easily strike a ton with the full length of the straight? But that argument aside i dont see what you'd do with that sort of speed? Honda just aint big enough. Will end up being a big tail drag comp!

In a 560hp Evo 6 your tipping 105mph after scalding the shite out of it coming round dunlop!
Starting from Dunlop corner from a dead stop you'll be lucky to see 80mph under the bridge!
All the talk of 100mph and clutch kicking is bullshit! You wont achieve it in a drift car end of.

Exactly! Be interesting to say the least.. Like unless your packin BIG HP a clutch kick at say 80+mph aint gonna do a whole lot is it?

more speed the better, ill need the pace to try put up to the bigger hp cars. should be a very good weekend, and the night out will be better lol
last year at the drift practice days i had 360bhp and gripping around the top corner and flat gripping 2nd 3rd and bit of forth i could get 120ish before the bridge then hand brake entry no fucking hope of a clutch kick at that speed the track just is not wide enough to fire it in on a kick

Firstly I doubt they will have the start line actually at Dunlop, I'd say it will be a bit forward of that,,
And as for 100mph entry, when I was driving the TDP Evo in time attack, I had around 600hp 4wd sticky tyres and coming off Dunlop flat in second I was doing 135-140mph well under the bridge as my braking would of been late as possible so a standing start with RWD and middle of the road tyres and initiation at or before the bridge I wouldn't think too many cars will pull 100mph if any,, still will be an exiting entry and fun!!

We dont do Hostels here in Kildare dude but get yourself checked into the Westgrove Hotel in Clane as its between both Mondello and Mantra or even Naas wherever the party may be:)

It's quite a nice hotel actually. I felt like I didn't belong there being all scruffy and the like, but got over it when they didn't throw me out. :D

As for me, im still on the fence about this round and seen as the supra is still sitting there the m3 may get the DD treatment soon. All i can thank is clients that wont pay. Fingers crossed.

was o the west grove site their and it says 59 euro per night!! how ye getting it so cheap
when PD last ran it this way before it was unreal,,the speed was just insane,they did start us in the middle of dunlop last time and full trottle from the start,i would think some cars will reach over 100mph as the last time i had a 4.1 and was well in 4th gear,,and
pretty sure it was from half way down the pit wall and theres not much hope of getting up to 100mph in that distance considering how early the cars will be slowing for the first corner.
