I set off for Fermoy at 8am, expecting the worst as the forecast was for showers for most of the weekend. Once I arrived, the overcast skies were beginning to make way for the sun. First off was open practice for all drivers in the morning. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere around the place.

The practice sessions gave the drivers a chance to get used to the track layout and see how far they could push their cars. A few drivers seemed to be struggling with the layout in the practice sessions, many taking wrong lines and ending up drifting the wrong way on the track. A few runs quickly sorted out their teething problems and lead to some spectacular drifting on show.

Expectations were high after such a good weekend at Round One in Ennis back in May. It was good to see Brian Egan out in his Mazda after all of the problems he has had with it lately. The engine was not in the best shape for the weekend but he decided to run anyway. It’s nice to see a few cars other then the typical S-body in drifting.
