Build 1: Iveco Daily (http://www.driftireland.com/forum/showthread.php?t=112)
Build 2: MK5 Transit (http://www.driftireland.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17348)
With this build im aiming for similar angles to this truck pictured, the body is going to be steel with alluminium floor and finsihed in radiant red! So should look good when its done!

Been a slow starter this one as I am waiting on steel all bloody week!
Got the body off it on Monday and was bored yesterday so starting working out some measurements and cut a few risers to match the angle of the bed.
Going to pick up 2 lenghts of steel after lunch today and get the runners in place just for something to do while im waiting on all the steel to come which looks like it will be monday now :(

fitted plates to bolt on off the body
http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u315/livewire78/Glenivor/IMG00256-20110511-1530.jpg
made these ones to support a right angled piece which will support the very rear of the body and take the weight

thanks!
Finally got something done today but only picked up 3 lenghts of steel, so ive used all them now and its back on hold now until monday.
I welded up the runners and sorted the angles. loading angle of 15 degrees so should be pretty good!

http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u315/livewire78/Glenivor/IMG00263-20110512-1531.jpg
i dont normally fit the lights at this stage but had little else to do so ive got the mounting brackets in place now and will be using the original cross member off the transit and the lights will be fixed in place unlike my other bodies
Gave it a bit of a cleaning, needs a lot more! Going to paint this black and should look good against the red body and alluminium floor

steel finally came today so been flat out since,
but before it came i gave the rear light bar another clean and stripped all the tail lamps off it so its good enough for paint now
also got the winch out of its box and made up some brackets to help with mounting it
brace i mentioned before

pm a price on one of these please!!!!!
serious maths there :afro:
What would it be like loading a low 180 on one of these.
There a great Idea if it suits a low car.
Would be so much better than a trailer:cool:
pm me a rough price if I supplied the van?

nice tidy work. can u put a price on this for when its finisnhed or is it to eraly?
Livewire 78
23-05-11, 22:32
dependant on what features someone wanted, im doing a fair bit for this besides a standard, build a body and fit it..
depending on price of materials at the time, alluminium changes so much it would be hard to give an exact price that wont change. some of my bodies, ie the last transit could be done for 1300-1500
this body would be roughly 2k
Really commin alone nicley now mate cant wait to see the finished product

60% in the uk, i cannot find an answer in ireland after asking tax offices, testing centres..
so i just work of the uk regulations as i tried my best to find an irish one a couple years ago with no joy, you see the same trucks as this with 16 foot bodies but its a bit too much and like what will you ever be carrying thats gonna be that long?!ott in my opinion
That looks seriously good.
Top notch work as always!
