It's been done to my car before I got it, supposed to be just as good as seamwelding and the foam itself is solid, the type of foam it is i can't see how it'll absorb moisture but I could be wrong

yea I have heard it reduces drag & increases someting else... Im sure if it was to be done could the holes etc not be fully sealed as in weld them up etc eliminate water from getting in??
all comments are welcome on this 1, as I said I dont really have a clue thats why I am asking, to be educated thanks

Unless you want the car to float I wouldn't :)

It's also toxic if it go's on fire!

used to see alot hondas that came in from jap land that had the sills filled wit it
im guessin its jus bein done to re-inforce sills an chassis legs to stiffin it up

but as said above its toxic if it goes on fire and seam weldin will make the car alot stronger

It's a drift car, the shell will most likely be thrashed before rust becomes an issue, a lot of the expanding foam is fire retardant the proper stuff is used as a fire barrier around pipes and ducting in buildings and isnt toxic when burned. It is a cheap, cost effective way of very noticeably increasing the stiffness of a car.

For a competition car, what about just doing everything?
Cage, seam weld and fill the sill and chassis cavities with foam :)

As long as the chassis was clean and no rusty or other debris inside the cavities, I don't see how it could cause any problem with rust etc.
If the shell was dipped and then filled with foam where needed, it would be the right job!!!

your right your right, no cutting corners! only ting I was thinking, would it be ok to seam weld the underneath as in round the chassis legs after filling them with foam??

Ye alot of jap people do it in there drift car s power vechiles did it in there red s13 for ridge abilaty or some thing like that its ment to be like bracing the chassis legs iam in the process of putting it down mine from the front all the way to the back

The Chaser's Chassis is Filled with Foam. Definitely benefits rigidity.
