well lads im just wondering where or who does this and how much it costs,iv a t28 and theirs about 1mm of play in it but the car is fair smokey,turbo could be ok but im just wondering for future reference


Also the car is smothering itself at idle and then when you pull second its coughing and spluttering and then goes,what would this be down to any ideas,the car in question is an sr20det 180sx redtop if that helps

I never did this myself but don't think it would be too hard, and you would only have to buy a rebuild kit just have to be really careful.

Just an idea personally I'd try this when the time comes;)

I've plenty of time now so I can do it for you for few bob, have done it before and it was running very well. However if the core is fucked due to excessive play (thrust bearing or oil seal completely gone mashing the core inside) then that's it.

Have a t28 complete kit here and few housings (if yours is cracked) also if you want one, I'm based in Cashel co tipp

it sounds like your over fueling, i could be wrong
as im not a mechanic, what else is done to the car?

typed turbo refurb in and got nothing useful,you type turbo in and see how many thrends ya get,cheers for your useful comment doh :confused:

@everyone else cheersb lads,that link is helpful i might go at it myself to when the time comes

the car isn heavily modded at all yet,just t28 turbo and fmic and dump valve,everything else is stock thats how i got it

Deffo no need to worry about rebuilding it was 1mm play at abseloute most, do it over winter :cool:

Try that injector too lad might be worth a shot coz it was deffo funny! Or maybe its down to the angle grinder :p
