Need some help with this.failed the Nct on emissions first time round.fair enough got a cat and put it in.failed again on emissions, the co part.the co emissions were actually nearly 6 times higher at low idle.I got the cat off a car that had just passed the test and there's no leaks in the exhaust.when I took the decat off it had a sensor in it which I left off as there was no hole in the cat for it.I was told this was a temp sensor and that it wa ok to leave it out.
Any idea what the problem is?
sensors weren't put there for the craic . They all need to be fitted and working for the exhaust system to keep emmissions down

If I drill a hole into the cat and put back in the sensor would it work?

the sensor in the cat is only a heat sensor...makes the light on the dash come on if the cats gettin clogged or too hot..it shouldn affect your emissions wat so ever

That's what I thought aswell but I got a redicliouds reading on the co at low idle 6.5% or something like that where as when I had the de cat with the sensor in I got 1.5%.it's really fuckin pissin me off!!
