First day was epic, serious weather and some serious machines. Some decisions by the judges were a bit iffy IMO. Duane's 180sx is a good yoke and the BMW wit the m5 engine is exactly what an engine should sound like!!
Well done to Brian Egan in the mx5, looked sweet wit the roof off and the car performed very well apart from some minor issues.

there were so many good drivers that i dont know the names of but it was a great day out, entertained all day:D

Fun day, im bate. Wez for Pro this year, on fire. Jh, some boy for driving and sneaking out of a toilet. Duane is some driver and kool as a breeze. Rob b, defo a deserved win. Bad luck on Ffrench but was a demanding track. On a note for tomorrow, i see big things from Dan Moorehead and Barry Leonard tomorrow. Some skills. Jp machine sounds unreal, pure porn. Nick Quealy, respect. Roll on tomorrow.

Great day today, one of the beat drifting days I've been to. Great buzz and atmosphere about and everyone was in a great mood! Was takin photos all day and I'm red as a fine Massey f!! There was a good crowd there today, and pros seen in pics were just practicing so wouldn't have been as many crowd watching.
Duane was on fire, as was nick queely, kindregan, jh, but to name a few of so many. Have tonnes a shots but no comp with me so will have pics up again soon! If your round, come down for a great day out! As said, beat drift day I've been too.

Was a great day overall. Driver wise I think Duane, Ffrench and Gem were on fire. Gem I thaught should have gone through and he certainly kept everyone entertained with his driving style. Himself and Ffrench were unlucky to go but thats drifting.
Sound to Padddy(NickNack) for taking a few snaps cant wait to see them. Im gonna go stick my head in a bucket of ice now as I'm burnt to bejaysus :mad:

Spectators view....was very good except the barriers , my wrists are bate from squeezn my hands through them taking pics :mad: theres wasnt as much of a crowd as i thought but im sure tomorrow will be a different story

I honestly don't know what he's done with it since Mondello but before then we'd just spaced out the rack and moved the lock stops which allowed for plenty of lock easily.
He has been busy doing his own mods since but I haven't had much contact with him the last few weeks, if your around tomorrow give him a shout and he'll explain all.
He did say on the phone he had gotten ridiculous lock alright, and pretty anal ackerman angles

savage day yesterday, car went well all day except for the front bumper kept falling off, until i made proper shite of it, twas a small track but i thought twas a fun track to drive, big congrats to rob barnett on the win, savage pilot wit some lock in that bm, good man to battle, it will be some season, some seriours pilots in the comp.

i kinda thought ennis wasnt the best, i mean, viewing was crap and when ever ud move away from the fence for a second some little prick would come along and take your spot!, i cant wait for fermoy now, the drivers tho were spot on well done do sinnot for wining it ( :P ) deane, carpo mckeever and the rest. whoevers mx-5 that is i plegde my alliciance to its awsomeness! and holy shit the dmac 86, the fookin noise out of it. also jp mccarthys v8 was a wonderful addition to a bad enough day. i take it there was a couple of convoys headin up aswell cause i seen in a top shop a ziptied s15 180sx and a clean enough s14a. and thanks for the free stickers low brian drifters. also james deanes borrowed s13 is FUCKIN SEXUAL. the qaulity of driving plus goodness of some people made the day a rittle better.

Really enjoyed the weekend! Weather, incredible driving in all classes and co-commentating with Mike Fitz made it for me. Congrats to Alan Synott, well deserved and the standard in non-seeded and amatuer is on another level this year :-)

Over the moon for Alan to win it been along time coming, new tubby set up seems be be the job!
One of the closest battles all day imo was Chris and Nigel in the first twin the two lads were flawless really hard to be seperated , set the standard for the rest of the battles!

Ambiguity is a part of drifting and will always be a part of it due to the nature in which it is judged. Judges use a discretion which bends the rules as needs see at each round. Sometimes it favours who you are biased towards sometimes not. If gem was 1 second late on a 5 min rule would u still be so definitive about the rules? Just curious, it's only for fun like
On a lighter note James deane's consistency is frightening , top runs all day FairPlay to de pros for de savage display of lunacy
savage day to day sun was shining along with some brilliant driving all day,,, its tough on drivers i think down there as all there hard work and hard earned money spent on there cars and 1 small fuck up could see it smashed up with them big concrete walls but well done to them all and well done to alan well deserved but tough call....
Really enjoyed today, wouldnt be a big fan of the venue but the quality of drivers and cars is just amazing, the whole drifting community should be proud of prodrift.
The battles were the highlight, absolutely sticking cars to the wall, fair play to all involved, never seen so many "one more times" or deserved anyway.
Good few highlights, the roar of that v8 (still put in its place by the might sr's though), carpos s15 is just amazing to both look at and to go (minus both bumpers for a while), watching a toyota powered nissan and a nissan powered toyota battling it out, was fantastic. Oh and a special mention for a certain 15 Y/O who I reckon we will see alot more of and the bang off that car is awesome
Rightly enjoyed today I must say. The Brady/Colfer battles were worth the entrance fee alone. McCarthy's V8 M3 was only sexual, unreal sound off of it. Duane McKeever was a little inconsistent early on in the day but by fuck he drove like a pro later on, defo one to watch for the future. Also what a beast of a car 786bhp!! As always James Deane's driving was god-like especially in an unfamiliar car. The Lenihans were pretty awesome too. The over all standards of cars/drivers seems to be ever increasing.
As for the stationary cars today, the DMAC 86 is a beautiful machine and is it just me or do the battle scars on Frenchy's tezza make it even better looking ??

Great weekend and good start to the season and good to see a decent crowd on both days. Saturdays amateur and non-seed was brilliant and the best in terms of standard of driving and the good commentating both days really added to the atmosphere and will really help keep the crowds coming to the later rounds once the weather is favorable as people actually know what they are watching.
As Brian said, the Consistency of James' runs was unbelievable. Right from the practice run this morning, the car was within inches of all three walls and bang on all the clipping points but fair play to Sinnot for winning it in the end.
Better off just letting the controversy of Saturdays battle settle as its just one of those things that goes round in circles especially if its debated over the internet!
Personally I thought the Compact was going to be in the grandstand with rate he took off down the straight and fair play for getting so far for his first time qualifying and into the last 16.
Today was unreal, not much can be said. Sinnott defo deserved the win but James as always was seriously perfect. That man is just talent at its best. Gavin lenihan impressed the shit outta us today too and Quealy again today, some driver. Young Duane never ever backs down, man will be ruling the world at 20. jp's car opened up big time today and made me hard, sorry to the lad standing infront of me :)
Every driver today was as good as the next, id love to see the Irish take on another country as a team, would be serious. That drift extreme stuff was kinda poo but defo entertained the crowd which is good i guess. To end all, crap track, great driving, great weather, t&a, epic weekend.
had a class day the quality of cars is getting better by the year,class driving and battles,some dodgy shouts by the judges in my opinion!class day overall,

had a savage day today in ennis, the driving is nothing short of top class gavin lenihans super lap was epic so was colfer and bradys twin battle. I was delighted for sinnot he drove unreal under big pressure in da OMT freestyle drifting wasnt my cuppa tea atall!
Suprisingly awesome.... The craic Saturday nite was as good a nite i ever had out with Prodrift.... And apart for some great driving soakin people with the Pd truck jst never got old.... Congrats to all involved.

So the day finished on saturday with roarn red heads from the sun ,back to the hotel for a shower which i still reckon mick kenny managed to somehow sabotage on me leavn me bollock nake'd with no water lol .....on entern queens night club meself n'd mr.stone were met by the dancn queen himself moorhead the shapes he was thrown lord lantern jaysus he should be on fuckn step up 2 or somethn ! gas man :D ........willis 17 thousand pints on his tshirt.....aftershave trick to half of the night club including ,bon bon (think simon got him ?) ,damien mulvey ,random blokes + women ...sex on fire words of song changed to ''willissssssss yoourrrr sisssssssterzzzzz on fiiiiiiiirreee'' ,dont think he knows about that one :confused: ............ nixon backn up his arse onto every young one in the place ,high tower aka rhianna

fuck me what a weekend..
saturday was a mixed day for us with the mx5, only got the car running at around 9.30am saturday due to wiring issues, coupled with a slipping clutch and no shakedown made it difficult for brian, he still managed to pull of a stonker of a first qualifying run and scored in both runs! So we know exactly where to go from here to improve :)
Weather was absolutly cracking, proper toasted now!!
Saturday night was just nuts! i was absolutly beyond bananas drunk, ended up with some young one in the jacks, room got wrecked, dislocated my thumb and then washed my iphone in the sink coz it was dirty?!!!
just absolutly nuts fun :D
standard of driving was amazing the whole weekend, the improvement of everyone since last season is fantastic. some proper well turned out cars too both off and on the track, cant wait to see dmacs ae86 on track!
Half thinkin now of getting my silvia finished and logged once and for all...

I should really start taking notes at these things ,and do a proper play by play rundown of the day ... But thats for the future..
The major takeaway from yesterday , was the sound ...
There were some amazing sounds to be heard , in the form of V8 powered beemers , all manner of 1jz , 1.5jz , sr20 ,RB25 and one legendary RB26 .. but the most resounding sound of all was the loud clang as young Duane Maceevers balls dropped and he became a man , sticking it to lads twice his age.

Savage savage weekend :D:D:D Friday nite was a late one, we didnt finish workin on the mx5 till 04:30!! Will_c and Paddy Brennan done some epic work to get that car sorted. The weather was amazing and there were some great machines.
Best engine for me is the V8 in the BMW, its pure amazing!!!!
Got to speak to loads of people and put faces to the names, cheers to Chris Burnett for showing me how he done the wiring in his 180sx. The Lenihan's are sound, were chattin away to me no bother even tho they were changing the diff in both cars at the time.
Saturday nite was savage craic in the nite club, Man Doorhead is quite the ladies man :D
The twin battles were amazing, the final battle was great stuf, well done to Alan Sinnott on his first win!!
Prodrift 2011 will be a very entertaining year.
I had an excellent weekend and the drifting on display was excellent.
Unfortunatley there wont be a video from me this round as my sunday footage is corrupted and i have no Top 16 or Super lap. :mad:

I had an excellent weekend and the drifting on display was excellent.
Unfortunatley there wont be a video from me this round as my sunday footage is corrupted and i have no Top 16 or Super lap. :mad:
But on the plus side there where at least two or three others there doing videos.
:( bad times after all the effort you made all weekend, thats gutting, but no doubt round 2 footage will be savage as always Patrick :cool:

Epic weekend, the talent this year in semi pro was unreal, still deaf from Duane's car LoL Barry Leonard and Dan Moorhead were on fire, the lad in R32 with the wide arch panels was unreal working his way up from novice, pity Martin didn't go further cause in practise he looked unbeatable, Wez gave it socks the sat and it really paid on, congrats man... Great work on pd's side, Mike and Dave worked really well together on the mic... Great seeing old faces and meeting new ones :) Roll on the next round and some factor 50, ouch....

Now he couldnt really hear us, and we couldnt really hear him as he was in the back of the van, next thing I know, Kruizers head pops in my passanger window with the correct directions!! Holy Shit, 60mph and heres mental man hangin out the sliding door to give us directions! Needless to say, my drink came out me nose and onto the inside of the windscreen!

thanks to chris brady for beating my boot straight after a wee incident with the wall and WKD for the sledge...twas an education....lol
the skill level out there on saturday was 2nd to none some amazing entries into that first corner...
and the bit of messin trying to get the white clippng box thingy off the front of the blue M3 Compact.....pure comedy....it jut wouldnt let go of that car...lol
i gotta say the north wasn't let down anyway, congrats to Rob Barnett for the win and Dwain Mc Keever for taking 3rd on saturday.

Not great lad, made top 32 but was eliminated by Brian Cotter after a one more time. Made many silly mistakes but i shud improve in round 2 :D

Was there both days and the standard of drifting was class. As the lads in the commentary box said, after the first twin battle you could have gone home and still been satisfied! Top 8 and Top 4 on sunday was some of the best drifting I've seen in PD over the last 2 years anyway.
I was one of the 20 or so lads in a high-vis taking pics, so I've about 18 gigs worth of photos from the weekend....As I've exams over the next few weeks it'll take a while to get them uploaded, but there shall be photos from me! :D

Epic weekend! The mx5 caused alot of stress for us, but massive kudos and thanks go to Paddy Brennan and Will Creighton. The lads worked miracles to get the car running properly before practice. Also a big thanks to Joe Fahy for the transport and backup! Same to Paddy Macken and the brother also for the helpage.
As for myself. Well I messed up practice......big style. Couldnt get one decent run, especially on the second clipping point. Clutch was just gone. Was fine once the car was going, but couldnt get the power down if I slowed, and no hope of a clutch kick. But first qualifying run I actually got a mint entry, 58 kph speed through the next bit, too much angle meant I had to straighten for a bit. Second run I got too aggressive and spun on transition. Came 45th AFAIK, dont know where in amateur. Standard this year is mental though. Nick Quely, Famous JH, etc. amazing driving lads!
But got loads of good advice on setup from Mike Fitz and co. R888s may be ditched on the front I think, and more lock needed, but I seriously think the car has potential......and I just need more tracktime to use it.
Saturday night?.......apoligies as per usual to anyone I abused, danced on, or ranted shit too. Highlights that I remember/was informed of include D Mac ranting afterwards lol "You drive a girls car........handicap", "Hondas......VTEC.......Handicaps" etc haha!! Nice ta meet ye all again.....apart from them tyte slippin bastards of course!:D

I was gutted when I was told I wouldn't be able to drive with the hand (the doc said if I drove I would defo need an operation) as Jules Chambers had prepared his S14 for the weekend had I been able to, but in the end up I was delighted to be up there commentating with Dave, the man is a pro at what he does and after a bit I just settled in and enjoyed the drifting. Thanks to everyone for the support. Unreal level of driving in all classes, was great to see different cars like Trixta's MX-5 out there, roll on Fermoy!

Daves a great addition to prodrift and a very neutral commentator, mike is a competitor so he knows what he is talking about when it comes to the twin battles
Great weekend, the standard of drifting in this country is unbelievable, world class even.
Serious mad entries into the first corner by Gem, Neville Brett, Kev Kindregan and a few others i cant think of.
Jay Rockett and John Hickey of the famous variety drove very well in almost standard 14's.
The commentating by Dave Egan was easy to listen to as usual and Mike Fitz's knowledge, experience and wit made it even better - "they were swapping paint like numbers at a disco" :D
Delighted to see Sinnott get the win, thoroughly deserved..
Well done to all involved, all in all a savage weekend.
Fermoy wont come around quick enough.
Only getting to this now. Flat out working yesterday and putting aftersun all over my face! Went down and back in a day on Sunday, Would've been best if I stayed over, ah well.
The drifting was great. I was already a fan of Chris Brady but the twin battle with Nigel was fantastic. McKeever, I can see only good things for him. Delighted For Sinott at the end
